what's "TAM" and what does this have to do with pricing?

again, we don't need yet another stock thread.

TAM is total addressable market. The questions of course will be how much of the current market can Tesla take (customers who would otherwise buy a truck from another manufacturer but instead by a Cybertruck) and how much can they expand the market (customers who would not otherwise buy a truck from anyone else, but do buy a Cybertruck). My take is "probably quite a lot" for both questions.

This wasn't posted as a stock post. It's more about Tesla's potential growth and capturing of the truck segment by releasing the Cyber truck

even though i'm not keen on seeing tons of these hideous beasts on the road i'm all for innovation, shaking things up, which will spur further innovation, etc.

unless there's some serious flaws/drawbacks to the cybertruck, i'm sure it will do great in the market.

Except for work and people who go camping and boating, I've never understood the appeal of trucks. Most people I know who own them have protected bedding that's never seen anything heavier than a sack of groceries. For anything else except for work and camping and recreation, they are a waste. Yet people are crazy for them. So except for the techie and unique geekiness of the Cyber truck, I don't get it's appeal either. Which is why it will sell extremely well

if people do use cybertrucks for towing, expect superchargers to get way busier with under 200mi. of range and frequent stops.
