Oh those are wheel covers. I thought they were replacement wheels for 300 bucks. Lol. Was going to say those are mighty cheap and will probably bend just rolling out of your driveway. Lol..
LOL no, I would never trust a set of wheels that went for $300 . The Gemini Wheels underneath look really good, but the aero covers really help with increasing range. One of my coworkers actually has these, and they look really nice. Nothing looks as good as actual rims, but these are second best

Do you know how much range you lose with the covers off? When we ordered ours, I didn't know you could pull the covers off and add the centers. I thought they were just old fashioned hubcaps and were covering basic steel wheels, so we decided to upgrade to the 20's. I like the 20's, but not sure they're worth the $2k. I could have used that money for Acceleration Boost!

From all reports I've read, you lose about 10 miles of range. As for the 20" wheels, you get much better grip, but you lose range from them as well, and increase road noise and NVH. I've also heard from people that they damage easier when hitting potholes

Yeah, we're a little nervous about damaging them, as the rim sticks out further than the rubber. NVH is not an issue, though. Maybe they get worse with age.

That's good to hear. A friend of mine has the same year Polestar 2 with the Performance Pack that includes 20" wheels, and they are louder than mine. He also has a harsher ride, but that could also be his Ohlin's need to be adjusted to a softer setting
2023 Tesla Model Y Long Range First Test: Damn, It’s Good
Rivals have sprung up—some excellent ones, too—but Tesla’s electric SUV still has the goods
"Right around the time we strapped our timing gear onto a 2023 Tesla Model Y, Bloomberg published a survey of owners of the Model 3. The gist was that although the majority of surveyed owners are tired of founder Elon Musk's antics, they still love their Tesla cars. After a few days with the Model Y, essentially the SUV version of the 3, we understand why: It's hard to find fault with this electric SUV and easy to see why it's a strong seller. Clearly, it ain't all about the Cult of Elon"
I might be getting my first referral credits from Tesla very soon. I let one of my co workers, a long time BMW owner take my Y out for a spin, and he's already come to my desk today 4 or 5 times asking me different questions, and about how the ordering process works, how the trade in process works etc. It's a car that sells itself...no wonder they don't have a marketing department
The Tesla service experience is the best I've ever experienced when it comes to servicing a vehicle. My front passenger seat has a slight rattle, so I set a service appointment directly in the Tesla app. When you arrive, you just drive into the service area and Check-in through the app, a service manager comes to you carrying a laptop. They were really busy, and as she was talking to me, I noticed my car was already taken and driven into the service area! They apparently have access to your car, and you don't need to give them anything LoL. They are changing the front passenger seat, and she said the soonest it would be done is tomorrow, before I could open my mouth, she said "come with me", and I followed her. She showed me a blue Model 3 and told me this is my loaner car, and check the app on my phone...and LoL it was added to my phone while she was talking to me
Here's the loaner, a 2019 or 2020 Model 3 Mid-Range
Another cool thing is you can track the progress of the repair directly from the Tesla app:
The whole process took less than 15 minutes, I was in and out. If I or the Service Manager has any questions, they will just message me in the app. I'm loving Tesla more and more....
Ended up getting my car back this evening. They didn't have to change the passenger seat, the rattle was coming from the front seatbelt. They made a slight adjustment, but told me it's not a warranty defect. Anyway, whatever adjustment they made, I didn't hear a rattle.
The process of picking up my car was just as easy as dropping it off. I was notified by the app that my car was ready, followed it on the map, hit "Finish picking up car", and went on my way. The loaner car was automatically removed from my app.
A few observations. You can see how much Tesla has advanced and improved their vehicles over the last few years. The loaner was actually a 2018, and seemed a huge step down. The screen wasn't as responsive, The AC compressor and fan made a lot of noise, and some features seemed slightly different. Also since this was a mid-range, it was way down on power compared to my Long Range Y. That was very evident when I made a passing maneuver, I had to floor it, and then barely made it. When I got my Y back, I could immediately feel the difference. After driving both the Polestar and the Y, I can never go back. I would have a hard time living with even a base Model 3....
Atom processor based Tesla infotainment is painfully slow. I think you can upgrade though.

You must feel like you're driving a Model T when you get into a gas car.
