minivans compared
My wife won't look under the hood.

I haven't test-driven a new Pacifica for several years, but I found the last one I sampled (with the bright-blue halo-lights around the primary gauges) and its overall drivability very nice. I can see why your wife likes them....but I'm assuming (perhaps falsely LOL, and correct me if I'm wrong) that she probably doesn't have to deal with the repairs at the dealership...you do.
The only thing on the Pacifica I didn't like was the rotary shifter...I've never liked them, and still don't. I test-drove a Ford Maverick today (which I'll do shortly do a thread on) with a rotary-shifter.....still find them awkward.

I was in an Uber Sienna the other day, and driven gently it rides very nice and is very comfortable...but he was driving it really gently lol
Yeah its a great vehicle, but you're right I have to deal with the nonsense. When it broke down and needed to be towed a couple weeks ago, guess who had to Uber to work so she could have a car? Me.

Chrysler gave me a loaner, I just couldn’t hang around and wait for the tow truck, so I Ubered to the office and then over to the dealer to get the loaner
When you drive new cars it’s generally not an issue lol. Not very common to have a 20k mile 2.5 year old car towed out of your garage…

It was a first gen GLS though so it follows the rep of those things lol!
My Mercedes dealer would bring me a loaner.
I have never had a car towed away that wasn't at least 15 years old, until this car. Keeping a third car for such a rare occurrence doesn't make sense to me.

That's lucky on your end lol! Guess people I'm around aren't as lucky, I know enough who have had issues that it's something I consider.
Why? Performance in a minivan is actually important because you travel in it fully laden with people and stuff. I don’t care about it being fast but I want it to have enough power not to struggle.

That's why I'm keeping my 2013 Sienna for now. The 3.5L gives it just enough umph so I can safely accelerate, pass, and climb steep inclines without struggling, even when loaded up with people and luggage. And I don't have to hear that annoying drone when putting my foot down, it actually sounds really good floored!
Having had a new Sienna rental, loaded with 6 adults, bags, 2 coolers, and bags, I just don’t agree that it’s an issue. Funny how the Pacifica in this comparison weighs more and has only 15 more hp is not a topic for discussion. I’d pick the Sienna in a heartbeat.

Power wise I think it’s fine, I just hate the way the powertrain feels/sounds. I’ve never driven a PHEV Pacifica so I can’t comment but the gas Pacifica has almost 50 more HP.
