2024 Toyota Tacoma (920B Program)

Lead Lap
This is awesome after the disappointment that was the Tundra, LX600, and Seqouia. The Grand Highlander, Tacoma, 4Runner, TDX, and GX550 are going to solidly place Toyota in an excellent position to dominate the market for quite some time.

Like 2022 NX, in my opinion the 2024 Tacoma and 2024 GX represent a lot for the future of midsize segments at both Toyota and Lexus, later to be revealed in full with Land Cruiser (Prado), 4Runner, Hilux and Fortuner. I have waiting to see this be revealed for that reason. I'm a Ford guy per paycheck and my performance vehicles, but there's room for more in my stable after clocking out each day. I'm an enthusiast, so this is a very big deal to me despite the Toyota badge.
A leap forward into the future, as the first major redesign in 2 decades and the only vehicle in its segment to be entirely new from scratch. Remember that one y'all.
I'm hearing LX 700h is coming for 2025 and Tundra might be refreshed as well. I expected MY 2026 for these large ones, but I can provide you better context at TCL via PM as to why 2025. I had been told in 2022/Jan 23 about the Land Cruiser 300 hybrid, but I have this annoying tendency to forget important hints in discussion and focus on a bigger picture.
Toyota have been experimentally working on a Tundra BEV and PHEV, as well as working on a Lexus GX BEV for end of the decade in whiteboard phases. These vehicles coming today, hopefully represent a course correction over the scrambled and scattered early TNGA-F products in 2021-22.

My apologies if the thread is a bit scattered right now.
Debuting exclusively on the new TRD Pro is a segment-first IsoDynamic Performance Seat that helps provide a smooth, confidence-inspiring ride for those in the driver and front passenger seats. The goal of this patent-pending feature is to stabilize the driver’s field of vision to improve focus, comfort, and reduce fatigue while on rugged trails. The IsoDynamic Performance Seat uses an air-over-oil shock absorber system allowing for vertical and lateral seat movement simultaneously to dampen body movement and stabilize the head and neck to keep alignment with the spine. This dampening effect is tunable based on body mass and occupant preference and can be bypassed, if desired, via levers on the seatbacks.

Anyone who wants to see and know more, can watch YouTube and check social media. A bit of overwhelming, as I expected the press embargo to end much later today. This is a surprise.

nice exterior and photography.
i think the interior is horrible, ugly, and dated even with the giant tombstone screen sitting up high.
what's with the 'shocks' on the back of the seats?
carmaker, thanks for posting the pics, press release info. lots of the pics repeated though.
