As many know, my old MSP was totalled by a red light runner. Luckily, I found a replacement I have aptly named Teslarossa. Plans are for her to do street, strip, and track (this is after all a performance car, not just a Instagram queen).
Ran her last night to test her out to get a feel of her and she's actually faster then her predecessor:
not worried about 1/4mi times right now. Next up is prep for a trackday in 2 weeks, so the focus will be in brakes to slow down the boat; I've already got the wheels/tires done with a meaty squared setup:
Again congrats on the new Plaid! Last night I drove my brother in law's Model 3 (again ), and everytime I get behind the wheel I love it more and more. At first it felt sluggish from the last time I drove it, turned out he had put it in "Chill Mode". Set it back to Standard and the fun was instantly back! IMHO, Tesla builds one of the best cars I've ever driven.
The more I see you post, the more I can't wait to get my Model Y. Another friend ordered one, they are completely sold out. They keep moving his delivery date, went from May to June
Definitely wait for the Highland/Juniper update! I can bring my MYP when we meet up sometime.

A Tesla Model S with the company’s factory Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit was tested on the track, and it proved very impressive. While the all-electric flagship sedan was tested at a track that’s best for small, nimble cars, the Model S Plaid still reportedly set a record during its run.
The wait has been long for the Model S Plaid’s Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit. Tesla announced the product in late 2021, the same year as the vehicle’s unveiling. At the time, Tesla’s official website noted that the $20,000 brakes would be available mid-2022. This estimate has now been updated to early 2023.
Earlier this month, a number of Tesla owners shared that they received messages from the company, indicating that the first batches of the upgraded brake kits are available to order. The performance of the Model S Plaid’s Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit was demonstrated in a video by amateur racer Sebastian Vittel, who posted a clip of the flagship sedan taking on the Circuit de Bresse racetrack in France.
The amateur racer, who also drives a Porsche Cayman 718 GTS MR, noted in his video’s description that the Circuit de Bresse is best for small cars that are nimble, like a Lotus or a Caterham. On the flip side, it could also be a “nightmare” for large and heavy cars and their brakes. Surprisingly enough, the Tesla Model S Plaid with its Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit performed very well. With the vehicle’s top speed unlocked, it proved a true monster on the track.
Ultimately, the Model S Plaid with Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit was able to perform so well that it reportedly set the track record for street-legal cars on non-semi-slick tires with a lap time of 1:33.610, and that’s with the vehicle’s original tires. For comparison, Vittel noted that the best time he got with his Porsche with non-slick tires was 1:37.40. With Cup 2 R tires, Vittel’s Porsche was able to complete the lap in 1:31.70. It would then be interesting to see what the Model S Plaid with Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit could do if it were equipped with proper racing tires as well.
Watch Vittel’s run in the Tesla Model S Plaid with Carbon Ceramic Brake Kit in the video below.
Excellent video! On that particular track the yoke probably added a little time to the lap. You can see the driver having to adapt to accommodate on a few turns. A round wheel plus racing tires and the lap time would be even quicker.
CCBs are what the plaid needed. glad to hear it's now available, but wow what a price tag (typical i know)!
congrats again ST430!
I disagree, there is no need for CCBs on a street car. I would have rather had just adequate brake rotors/calipers/pads that were up to the task of stopping this heavy and powerful car.
+1, however I am glad it is coming out as it should knock down prices of other aftermarket brake systems. Speaking of brakes, called my brake guy and he's recommending Carbotech XP20s for her! 🫨 Going to need a lot of work to slow her down (without spending $20k)!
Took some pix of her today, but she's still dirty.

I think the yoke is great for the street to cruise around, however I'm 100% with you it has no place at the track unless they make it a variable rate setup. I plan to address this on my car with an aftermarket steering wheel as well.
