06 GX 470 Starts on its own !
My GX started on its own while locked in the garage - has this happened to anyone else ? Had to open the door with manual key as the fob was unresponsive. Put the key in the ignition with no success. Tried using the key to turn off the engine, but there was no response. Not sure how or why, but I decided to put the truck in gear, and then back in park. Finally, the key responded and I was able to shut the truck down.
Freaky !

Kinda sounds like the vehicle has an aftermarket remote engine starter that is starting to malfunction.
I would suggest removing it before anything else happens.
On the chance the vehicle is stock, I would check the ignition switch...if it was malfunctioning its possible that the vehicle could start on it's own...although highly unlikely as the vehicle still needs to see a transponder key code from a key...my money is still on the aftermarket starter.

Hey guys, thnx for the response. I don't believe there's a remote starter but the prev owner mentioned something about low jack ? Not familiar with it or know where to look for the device /switch. I guess it's some sort of a gps/ veh tracking equipment? Out of town for spring break holidays (late) but back in town in a couple of days. Will look into it and update. In the meantime, if disconnecting the battery to achieve a 'reset' woukd help, I can try that. I guess I just have to Re program the windows, seats etc...
Cheers !

I'd wouldn't leave your vehicle in your garage until you get this resolved. If your GX starts in the middle of the night while your sleeping it can flood your house with carbon monoxide and kill you and your family.
