Ah, didn't know that. Shows how much I visit this forum
How long does it take to clear? I thought all one had to do was get the BMW "certificate" that states it is legal here and drive it across the border.

Oh, mine isn't from the states, I'm waiting for a signature on the last owners' registration; his insurance chick made a really big, um, 'error' with something.
The paperwork surrounding this car is a little complicated, but fear not, everything more than checks out.

hmm, say u have the title and the invoice already. u need to fax both over to us customs. its either 24 or 72hrs afterwards that u can bring it across the border to clear. its basically 24 or 72hrs to give the us customs time to review and give u a stamp.
this is all assuming u did ur research on riv.ca to make sure the car can be entered into canada.
now onto canada customs, u go there to pay ur fees. environmental fee, a/c fee, taxes.
after that, u have 45 days to get the recall letter from the dealership. once u get that, u can go in for ur federal and provincial inspection.
and once that is done, u can finally insure it.
all in all, if ur quick, id say a week to 2 weeks after u bring it across the border.

well, i hope. the first interview was a bit intimidating. i got interviewed by the HR, the parts manager, and the fixed op all at once. i was very truthful at all my questions, and i think they liked some of my ideas as they asked me some questions related to front counter parts and marketing.
2nd interview was more casual with just the HR, he asked me back to inform me that brian jessel is interested in bringing me on board, however the big boss himself would be away til wednesday. he also mentioned that parts may not be exactly best fitting for my aptitude. so thats where im not sure what position ill be put at. I hope its a great work environment. Really wanted to give working at a dealership a try.
I left my work at advance motors over a year ago, and took the time to focus on my csc, and my monetizing my own webboard, but i think ive had it with setting my own hours. I like having set hours, and im use to being up at 5am in the morning anyhow, (yes, im a morning person).
You also work at brian jessel bmw?
