Saw a lot of you 2IS owners with aftermarket rims. just wondering where did you guys get your rims programmed? Trying my best to avoid Lexus since its horrifying of what they charge. Will consider toyota dealers but just wanted to double check.
i was thinking the same thing... i think maybe he's wondering about TPMS on aftermarket wheels?? but that wouldn't require any programming AFAIK, just move the sensors to the aftermarket wheels no?
haha sorry new to TPMS stuff .. I was actually sorta confused myself. I read in the IS section that people purchased TPMS from ebay and still had to be programmed? So i thought there was more programing done?
So if i purchased the TPMS and stick it right in the rims it'll work?
transfer ur TPMS sensors to ur spare tire, make sure they are secure and that the spare tire is pumped up to right pressure. then you can run any wheel combo u want.
604IS350,
Did you purchase new sets of TPMS? Also $50 for all four?
Thanks
I did purchase it new but that was before I knew about Sewell. It was about 800 dollars from the dealer and Sewell was only charging half of that price. The 50 dollars was the charge for programing it into the car as either Main or 2nd set of tires.
P.S.- SorrGwa's method can be used for wheels that is not compatible with the TPMS.
^ was going to buy a second set as well, SorrGwa's way is the way i ended up doing, cheap, easy, and no issues. saved me a few hundred for sure! think if it as getting a tire for free..
