anyways, since most of the pretty/good places are recommended, I will suggest Harrision Hot Springs? it's about 1 hr drive from Vancouver, a nice place to chill w/ your family and friends =D

theres also Lonsdale Quay Market in North Vancouver
u can do a 2 day north shore tour
day 1: Horse Shoe Bay + whytecliff park (sp?) + Cypress Mountain
day 2: Grouse Mountain, Capilano Suspension Bridge (expensive one)/Lynn Valley Suspension Bridge (free), Lonsdale Quay Market, Deep Cove (optional as it is on the other side of north van)

I used to work there (both Downtown one and Richmond one) lol, maybe it was me who made the food not as delicious. LOL

oh and one of the best Izakayas in Vancouver is Zakkushi on Denman/Robson
