Default Help! cant decide bodykit or lowering spring?

Hi everyone~ I'm new to this forum. I'm finally getting my IS250 this sat! I'm planning to do some mod on this car. I want to get a lowering spring + a body kit. I think I'm getting the factory lowering spring which will drop my car 1 inch. And I'm also thinking to get the Ings bodykit. But the thing is I'm afraid that my car won't be able to go through bumps, parking lots, and driving during the winter (I live in Calgary, the road here is not so frdly, esp during winter). I use this car as a daily drive, so I really want to make sure putting that bodykit on and drop it 1 inch is alright for daily driving. Should I drop the car? or just get the body kit? Anyone here can help me out?? anyone who lives in Alberta has dropped their car or adding bodykits on their car?

what ever you do, dont get the factory springs, get after markets and save some money. if i remember correctly, the 'factory' lowering springs are just the eibach pro kits, which you can get installed somewhere else for 1/2 the cost. search the 2nd gen IS forum, theres lots of info on springs there if you havent already. and then put that money into your kit and a set of snow tires. i have that set up on mine, and i got a 4" clearance, so you can decide if you can get around calgary in the winter without having to constantly plow your way through snow and ice.

i wouldnt worry about it voiding your warranty. i asked the service dept too, basically if anything goes wrong regarding your suspension, then maybe they'll try to pin it on the springs, but it wont void out your warranty completely. just keep your stock springs just in case and switch them if you ever need to.

yup, got eibach kit with the body kit and ya, 4". fun times in the snow let me tell you watching the smooth trail behind you as your plow the streets i sure hope my lip survives the winter.

1inch lowering isn't much. It would be hardly noticable. I would rather go for some racing springs that lower at least 2inches or get some coilovers where you can adjust the height. That would be my first choice.
