hey guys! I'm planning to drive up to Okanagan for a get-away trip!! Do you guys know about the highway condition? (e.g., smooth pavement / bumpy) And besides, where can I get those tapes that ppl put on their front when they go on highway?

the tape is just painters tape. you can get it from home depot. make sure it's painters tape so it doesn't damage your paint when you take off the tape.

Blue 3M painters tape FTW. All the cars that drove in from any distance to MFest used it and no one had any issues.

Remember to do your side mirrors too!

which hwy are you taking? pavement is relatively smooth. its better than the I5 thats for damn sure.
I wish you the best tho. rock chips are unavoidable for all the cars i've driven from vancouver to calgary.

probably best to ask Solo about recent conditions tho.

Hwy1/5/97 should be smooth year round, at current temp and weather, should be clear as well. Just tape up the front, hood, mirror, any leading edges, once you're back, clay bar and detail the car. At least you wont be going through sand blasting like how I go through in the winter months with all the sand + salt + semi trucks.

Check out home depot or Can Tire, go for the blue ones, and buy the wide ones, Blue ones usually doesn't leave any / as much residue.

And when are you going to go? check the weather and keep an eye for the conditions... though should be clear anyways for this time of year..... :/

And check the web cams before you go for an idea of what to expect along the trip

is the economy so bad someone has to drive his SUV and become a cabby?

im guessing the guy likes driving, is well off and has nothing better to do
or this is a new way to launder money
