Hey everyone!
I should have posted a while ago but kind of forgot with how crazy this year has been. I just bought my second 460 in Smoky Granite Mica which will be mostly stock. But my first was this 2008 GS460 in Black Sapphire Pearl. I bought it early last year after searching for a replacement for my FBO RR tuned IS350. I wanted something nicer and faster, but wanted to retain Lexus reliability.
I want this car to eventually be able to keep up with stock GSFs. So I ditched the heavy stock 18s with 18x8.5 +30 Enkei RPF1s and saved over 11lbs per wheel. I added 255/35 Michelin Pilot Sport 4Ss in the rear and 245/35 Pilot Sport 3+ in the front.
I added an Invidia catless midpipe for some better airflow in the stock Y pipe exhaust. I should be getting PPE headers sometime next month once they release them and I'll also get a Borla true dual exhaust.
The car is tuned by Sector7tuning and can safely run on an E30 blend. It has an ISF TCM for faster shifts and rev matching. I should have a solution to the restrictive intake by the end of the year.
Front rotors are Stoptech drilled and slotted with their 309 pads.
Suspension is stock but I plan to upgrade it soon.

Yep, I've been running the S7 tune on my 460 for about 6 months now and am very happy with it.
I'm not trying to make GSF power, I'm only trying to reach the acceleration of the GSF. High 12s in the quarter mile is all, and I'm almost there. I don't think this motor can make 467 bhp without some internal work, but 420 seems possible with just bolt ons and a good tune + E85.
Headers for the gs460? When is this happening? Did you use the 08 isf tcu or does it matter? I've enquired sector 7 about a transmission tune for quicker shifts. They say they have one that adjusts line pressure among other things. What parameters does your tune tweak?

So the headers from PPE Engineering are already ready for purchase and they have an 8 week lead time. I am using an 08 ISF TCM but I don't know if it matters. I am not a tuner and it was done remotely, but from Sector7 it was timing and VVTI changes down low in the power band, some trans pressure adjustments, increased throttle response and took some fuel up top as the GS 1UR-FSE runs a bit rich. I also run an occasional tank of e30 blend. After I install the headers I'm hoping to get a retune.
Wow! I looked at ppe website and no headers were available. Is buy in people only? Do you have a number for Sector 7? I've asked through email and haven't gotten a response. 1000 bucks for the headers? I bet you have to pull the motor on our cars. Mine is exactly like yours.

Yes, if you want headers you should contact PPE by email. Pricing is similar to their ISF headers. I don't have a number for S7. I believe the install is similar to the install of ppe headers on an ISF.
Let us know how it's going when you get the headers. I will probably get them as well if I can get past the thought of spending 2 grand for 20 hp. Dangit.
I've read older threads about swapping the gs350 differential to a gs460. Has anyone done this? Is it direct swap? Also is the awd gs350 equipped with lsd rear end? Couldn't find any definitive info. Thanks for any help.
Yes, the GS350 3.7 diff is a drop in swap, as is the 4.1 from the 2IS350, and a few guys have done it. Some of the LS460 guys have done it and are suffering for traction. In my opinion its completely unnecessary, all of the F cars come with the same rear end, the ISF was released with the same open diff. The ISF, GSF and RCF all share our 2.9 ratio diff and get hard launches just fine. I've swapped to much lighter wheels and sticky tires, and now I have a faster 60FT than a lot of stock F cars.
I've seen where an f sport cold air intake is being sold to fit the gs460. Lexuspartsnow. Around 300 bucks. I know the gain would be negligible but the sound and looks would be cool. Any one done this? There ain't jack out there for these cars. Pumped about the headers though.

Despite what that website says, it will not fit the GS460, I would save your money.

Hey treybo7, I'm looking to get the ssr gtv1 wheels in stock size but different offset. I want the wheels to be at least flush with the fenders instead of tucked in. Does the +30 achieve this? It looks like it in your car pic.
