First and foremost I apologize if any of my terminology is incorrect. Got my daily 2002 300, picked up a built 1999 300 from my buddy. Cleaning everything up and seeing what parts can be swapped over and what parts I’ll just replace. So far switched over to the TRD sway bars, swift rear diff braces and Tien anti sways. The motor is a GTE block with the GE head (high compression pistons and rods, port and polished). Gonna send two auto trans units to power dynamics hopefully week after next. Got the motor out of the 99 and am cleaning everything up on the stand. Only problem I am running into is with wiring info for an AEM series 2. The only diagrams I am finding are not for the second gen they are for up to 97 in the GS or for a Supra turbo and non turbo. I got the old wire harness out of the 99 so when I have time I can make a wiring diagram based off that piggy back splice job. Any help with a diagram for the series 2 would be much appreciated. I’m having to learn about all these things as i go. The 99 was equipped with a blitz boost controller that is going into the AEM and a wide band but I’ll have to figure that out later. There’s a turbo timer thats not hooked up... maybe the AEM has a turbo timer function. Any tips, tricks or “you should read this” is much appreciated.
I can see the harness already has a Boomslang plug and play adapter for whatever specific unit. I hope it's hasn't been hacked up. That's a $400 adapter. I'd just run what A/F controller it is meant for if it was me.
So which engine are you using? The GTE or the GE with the parts swapped over?

The only wires that i cut were the stock harness so I could lift that wiring package out of the engine bay. When I picked the car up no wires were connected to the engine just payed over the fender. I am not knowledgeable in the boomslang, I will research it. One problem with the wire mess is that before this engine ran on the AEM it ran on a haltek and who ever just clipped or extended on the wires.
I am using the engine on the stand that’s already built and boosted. It has the ge head and GTE block, I was told that it’s just considered a boosted GE.

I just got to the shop and took a look at the harness and all I have to say is thank you for pointing that out man, you just alleviated a massive headache I was worrying about, when I disconnect the boomslang there are just 4 wires I have to document. All this stuff came at me so fast and my boss on my *** to get what I need out of the car so we can get it out of our yard that I am slightly overwhelmed just because of the pace I’m being pushed while having 9+ hrs of cars with appointments each day.
Hell ya man, thats pretty sweet the engine is already completely set up with the turbo and everything plumbed up. I just got done dropping my pan to drill the oil return line fitting for my build. I have a Boomslang harness too for my piggyback acf neo. Makes life much easier. The way they do their harness's it should be plug and play for whatever unit the previous guy had, so hopefully that will help you get things back together quicker.
So I’ve talked to a couple people and they both said that they did the Supra caliper upgrade and they were not impressed with the stopping power. If those of you who have first hand knowledge of this upgrade would let me know if painting and rebuilding these is really worth my time or not it would be much appreciated.
I think the biggest things are what pads and tires you run with them. That said, there are better (read bigger and lighter) options now that some members on here are making brackets to adapt some newer aluminum LS and GS front calipers but the supra TT calipers are still a big upgrade over the factory brakes with the right pads. I have the TT front calipers with EBC reds and wider BFG comp2 a/s tires and they have some serious stopping power. They can easily lock up the tires and they don't fade badly during spirited street driving but on a track I have no doubt that they would be cooked in under 2 laps. If you already have them just throw them on as is and you can upgrade later if they're not good enough.
It was a rats nest. I cleaned it up, eliminated the butt connectors, soldered everything and sealed em up. I still have to add the O2 sensor chip if I want the CEL to be off.
Nice, it looks like this is going to be a great build. An AEM series 2 stand alone, built GTE/GE hybrid, and doing a built transmission. You definitely got lucky with all that came with that car. It had some pretty serious stuff. Will definitely be putting down way more than my build will
So my buddy I got the swap from told me that since I’m getting the trani built (actually shipped to Texas day before yesterday) that my next weak link is gonna be my rear diff and it is a ticking grenade waiting to explode under what will be the new power. He told me that the gear set from a Supra rear diff should hold the power as long as I don’t go for more power. Problem is he doesn’t know which Supra gear set is the same ratio as my current. Does anyone have the knowledge of which Supra diff I should pull from? I have found a few but dunno which one.
