No doubt, once it's painted and i replace the floor under the seat that's rusted, the body will actually be clean and i won't have that in the back of my mind nagging at me.

If things go well financially this winter I'm hoping to get a link monsoon for it as well. So learning tuning will be another thing to add to my list.

I love your willingness to get in there and do the damn thing! I'd love to start getting into some drifting with my car. It's not super clean, but I'm still afraid of thrashing it. I'd like to go your route instead - grab a missile, slowly build it up, and make it nice as my driving improves!

yea drifting a nice car would be scary, that's why i'm not afraid to chuck this thing wherever and however lol. if i destroy it, just gonna swap the motor and trans into another shell. i'm always keeping an eye out for a clean shell anyways because this one's had a rough life. i started taping off the car and removing the remaining trims today, bought a bunch of 220 and 500 sandpaper and gonna start sanding next week. My prothane front arm bushings also arrived so i'll probably swap those out in the coming weeks. hopefully all my bolts aren't completely rusted together.

i finally started painting the car! i'm doing it in stages so i can focus on each piece and do a decent job on everything. now that the body has a base coat on it i'm gonna wet sand it, clear coat, then wet sand and polish again. I'm sanding and painting the fenders now, once those are done i'm gonna put the car back together into a driveable state. Then after that all that's left is the body kit, bumpers, sideskirts and other small stuff. i think for a spray can job it turned out freaking awesome. it's really all in the prep and post work, the paint or whatever technique you use doesn't really matter much in my opinion. but what do i know i'm only a youtube certified mechanic lol.

I also removed the quarter windows to install plexiglass there with naca ducts i'll be 3D printing. Those will hopefully help with airflow in the cabin because even with the windows open there is absolutely no airflow in this car.

Once the car is in a driving state i'm gonna be replacing all the front arm bushings. in my last video i showed how one of the bushings on the driver side LCA was almost completely missing and the arm had a half inch of play, not good lol.

and here's the video of the entire process!

got some more maintenance done on the car! installed poly bushings in the entire front of the car so no more clunking. now i need to learn how to align the car cz the steering is reeaally messed up. next up will be polishing the paint, which i've never done before so that should be fun.

having a blast, almost done with the plexi glass quarter windows and naca ducts! i'm honestly shocked how much airflow these naca ducts produce. video will be out next week, i'm filming the last shots tomorrow. after that i'll either be modding the knuckles for more angle or painting the bumpers, not sure yet. it's getting pretty cold here in Chicago so paint might not be a good idea.
