you clearly haven't been bitten by the boost bug yet. on paper talking about horsepower goals is easy. but once you've put together a kit and now your producing only 320 whp your immediately going to be plotting how to make more power. you'd be hard pressed to find threads where someone built a boosted car and kept it at the first setup they put together. rarely does someone stay at low boost. just get it over with and go with the 2jzgte motor. you talking about ebay budget than later talking about full standalone is counter productive. have you priced out how much it costs to tune a full standalone from scratch and actually have it reliable and not just good enough? your much better off saving up and pulling the trigger on the motor that was built like a brick s h i t house from the get go. let the stock computer handle it for awhile. than go from there.
Just pulled the trigger on the CXRacing kit. Anyone have good input other than LOL YO **** GONE BLOW UP HOMIE. Anything at all? Any advice that will help? Yikes this community is quite interesting to say the least.

i would kind of say people like you who clearly have no idea what they are doing or wanting to do are interesting. btw you will be about $3-$4k into this build and my GS430 will still be making more power than your entire build. great plan

So you pulled the trigger on the kit and NOW want input? I think your decision has been made. You had access to a wealth of knowledge on here.....you were given some advice......and you made a decision! What other input do you need?
I cancelled my order. Didn’t really get too much help on here other than don’t do it which i suppose you’re all going to say was indeed help. I get it i just wanted a little boosty boost. Oh well I’ll spend the money on cosmetics and audio and general maintenance.
lol at everyone who ignored the fact that the only off brand parts that mattered were the turbo, wastegate, and manifold. Installed properly that setup would have worked fine at low boost but between you jokers and the guy not wanting to read, it was doomed to fail. AEM for tuning, assuming his tuner is competent, no problem. Injectors, head gasket, head studs, none of it was eBay either. For how cheap that kit is, and the amount of fabrication labour saved, even after replacing the turbocharger with something better (get some money back by selling the Chinacharger), it's a decent deal as long as that manifold is good.

As someone that's played the game for a while with SC and now Supra. I say save more and get quality parts for the critical pieces (turbo and gate) sure it would work but then you want more power. You sound like someone that would turn it up anyway and break one of those critical pieces or bend the thinner rods in your 2jz vvti GE. Also who was going to tune the FIC? For 5K I would save more and go with a GTE swap you could probably pull it off for that doing the labor yourself using a side mount intercooler on stock twins.

The area i got incredibly caught up on is the engine management side of things. I read and read and couldn’t get a 100% sure fire way to manage my engine. I landed on a ECUMasters Det-3 but even then people said they don’t even make a PnP harness or boomslang for my 2jzge vvti which would have made it much easier. Oh and thanks for doubting me but i surely would not have turned my
boost up beyond reliable settings. My whole point was low to mediocre boost to maintain reliability. Off i go to spend my cash on some headlights, brakes, ball joints, sound system, etc. Does anyone recommend me doing plugs or what other important maintenance stuff or hell even a little performance upgrades!?

Take care of suspension and other areas first bushings, ball joints, brakes etc....then boost. Since you're doing NA-T then make sure motor is healthy check compression, seals, plugs etc...
Read, bro. The answers to all the questions you've asked are right in front of you. Everyone is giving you a hard time because they don't feel like re-writing all the answers that are already posted. Everyone is tired of people who don't look, ask questions, get told where to look, then get mad at not being spoon-fed.
