My perception of the differences between the 2 stand alone, other than quoting from the manufacturers specs is that i have worked with the v2 standalone before on a 95 eclipse, some of the controls and processes were just a bit hard to follow with tuning and getting it set up with all the sensors and had some issues with the software on the laptop. Apart from that, Wolf has been established in the import community and based primarily out of Australia where they have had a number of imports to work with, i guess you could say that the Wolf ems bread and butter was the 2jz platform. Just from talking with a few community groups about the Wolf ems, that they found it way better for simple plug and play as well as a standalone. Now bare in mind that I am not proficient by any means in tuning, and I want to learn. Apart from being told either from friends or someone who has been using the Wolf system before that it is much easier to use and customize. Again apart from pulling the info straight from the website which I will, I want to try something different, and part of the fact that I had gotten word that wolf wanted to sponsor my build for being in america. Thats the real big hype for me in this regards.

Flexibility of OEM sensor compatibility there is no need to purchase "after market" sensors.
The ability of using OEM trigger settings being able to fit directly to your project without modification to your engine.
The flexibility of the Wolf V550 makes it one of the most versatile on the market with the ability of being able to control your automatic transmission as well as the engine.
The 8 Multicontrollers allow for accurate 3D control of such things as Nitrous, ignition over speed or even something as simple as rain sensitive wipers.
8 Sequential injection
8 Sequential ignition
Dedicated Staged injection 3D mapping
Closed loop quad cam control
Closed loop boost control
2 steps control
Dedicated Launch control
Dedicated Anti lag
Colour 3D mapping

And yes that is straight from the websites of both the respectable parties, Id say in my opinion the WOLF offers more control or more of a deeper control into the car, where I can tune both engine and trans in one unit, its self learning, or self tune if you will. With respect to AEM there are similarities and differences that would come with any standalone. But I think the biggest kicker for the WOLF ems is that once Im done with this build and want to move on to something else, I can take this same ecu and put it into another car or truck with a new base tune and start from scratch, with the WOLF's make your own engine harness. So basiclly once I have one, I can go from project to project and keep 1 ecu through out the projects.

Got to hand it to ebay for the small stuff but I believe these clear makers will ketch some eyes, while I wait for more parts to arrive for the main build

Just one box of goodies that showed up to the shop, I dont want to start the main build until have all parts counted and present. We all know that once you start the build any missing parts can cause set backs and I want to avoid that as much as possible

Just wanted to give you guys and gals an update on the progress of this build, I have finally begun tearing into the car, first real time getting an up close look at the underneath of the car and for it being over 200k and being in the mid west this car like I said before has very little rust minus the normal spot other wise the body it beautiful. Pictures are to follow.

Was able to rip out the exhaust system with the help of a cut off wheel and a little bending back and forth she came free
typical rust on the diff / shocks / control arms but over all not to damn bad if i may say so

yes this is the trans fluid being drained, it was time with 200k plus miles. yea it needs it
trans fluid should be red right
because draining 1 thing at a time is silly,
exhaust rust is my friend
so we all know that o2 sensor are a *****, well yea I kinda ripped mine out in the futile effort to keep and re use them. Shame on me for thinking thus so lol
Another well rounded but locked in place o2 sensor -__-

We are going to keep these around and weigh the whole exhaust vs the new 4in stainless and see what the difference is
not bad for the miles the only oil we found leaking was the power steering nothing coming from the rear main or the front Im truly speechless
