Default sc400TT, Garnet Peril pt2 (Slow Build Log)

Bought this car a couple of weeks ago.
My goal is to improve it whenever money allows(poly bushings, quality fog lights, auxiliary fan, oil cooler, etc)
It probably won't get too much/any cosmetic work.

A picture from the day I bought it next to the now parts car on the left. Note how the licence plate isnt on straight and the bumpers pushed in.
The Craigslist photos;

After I had it for two weeks:

It had when I bought it:
No shift ****.
Slammed to the point of ruining the front tires on the 200+ journey home.
Airbag wires that got eaten.
The diff and driveshaft were had only 2 bolts holding it on and they were less than hand tight.
Front bumper and support skeleton buckled.
Stainless steel p/s line that wasn't bolted on all the way.
Clutch line TOUCHING the exhaust.
Egr valve that was almost fully closed due to gunk which led the car to stall on deceleration.

Megan ez street coilovers.
04 350z 6 speed, and Im 87% sure it has syncro issues.
Lots of rust and bondo. And after further investigation It seems that the entire right side of the car has been replaced and is now either; rusting through, delaminating, or has welds that show massive strain.

The car was acting like it had a vtec kicking over under hard acceleration so I made the fuel pump steady state, and wa-la problem fixed.

I suggest doing this to your car if your installing a 6 speed/have one.
Simply unplug the fuel module thingamajig, find the two large wires and connect them and plug it back in.

I'm also in the process of removing the sound deadning under the rear seat and will probably do the same to the rest of the car, I gotta offset all that bondo weight.

Quality photography.

Interesting. Please get rid of the make shift fogs. Makes the car look like it has buck teeth

Bent/cut the frame to better fit the wheel with tin-snips, a chisel, hammer, and pliers.
Refit the wiring harness after removing the coconut water shield(not joking) and made notches to allow the harness to fit best.

Coconut water shielding, latest in high tech research.

I'm well aware that I'm ruining this frame(more) but this things been wrecked waayyyy too many times for me to care.

lmao wtf? Ok that is worse that what i have found on mine so far.

I found a set of memphis speakers in all 4 corners of mine. I decided to keep them instead of going with some rockfords i had lying around from my other project car.

Started work on the rust pit behind the trim.

Strongly considering leaving the trim off, because its suprisingly heavy, I broke off a few tabs, and I dosent look half bad without it.
The only problem I see is that the window might get caught by the wind and pulled off. But I don't really know, only one way to find out!

I just read the COs you are on. Are the comfortable, bouncy, or stiff? I'm not overly concerned with cornering performance but these POS i am on have got to go.

Removed the AC .
Looped the powersteering.

Rerouted the hydraulic fan cooler to the radiator.
Shortened the bracket that holds the p/s reservoir.
All in all its around 50lbs.

lol what are you trying to achieve here? currently it feels like some sort of mad max survival build, but it looks fun, can't wait for more.

those bolts on the diff worked their way out twice, I installed the driveshaft and tightened them all up, they came loose shortly and I retightened them before selling it from the dude you might have bought it from

he did that coconut water thing, I had been meaning to relocate the harness myself, that guy seemed like he dropped the car more.

also the guy I sold it to was in Hayward, I think he may have sold it to someone else who sold it to you, cause he was selling it with the passenger rear quarter all messed up still.

not sure if you read my topic, but your title is spot on from mine lol, I was the one that put the CD009 in

When I first bought the car, I searched through this forum and found your build. So since I'm continuing with this car I used the old name.

Asfar as diff bolts; I wouldn't fault anyone for that, because it honestly happened to me as well. I just pointed out things that I noticed.
