IS300 High Compression E85, Turbo, MS3x, Clean-Up, Sleeper Build
Here are the specs for the build. I will edit picture descriptions when I have a chance but, this is a majority of the progress in the past two weeks. Engine Bay was cleaned up, ABS relocated wiring cleaned and re-taped, engine cleaned painted (Valve covers are ugly! We have painted ones, that we don't want to scratch!). Etc..
Goal of the project is a sleeper 500RWHP "Budget Build". Though I'm spending quite a lot of labor to make it look aesthetically pleasing. Also fabrication and function of the components will be at a high standard for a very fast spooling street car with traction at all speeds.
-2001 SBM IS300 w/ Black Interior Carbon Fiber Hood
-Tein Flex Coilovers
-Wheels may change IS350 for now
-Battery Relocation, Wiring cleanup, Engine Bay Paint, ABS Relocation
- Low Mileage 2JZ-GE VVTI
-Megasquirt MS3x Some Features. Android Tablet Gauges for all sensors, map switching, logging and tuning. (Traction Control, Boost by gear, torque converter lockup, Flex Fuel, Knock Sensor/ AFR fail-safes, (Up to 16 channels of logging including Gforce, suspension travel, Fuel Pressure, pedal position, nitrous pressure, exhaust back pressure, turbo shaft speed, pre/post intercooler temperature and then voltage.)
-Borg Warner S360
-Built by me A340e Billet Accumulators and modified valve body
-GTE VVTI ECU for transmission controller
-3" DP with re-circulated 50mm wastegate
-Possibly stock exhaust with 3" cut-out
-DEI Heat Wrap, Turbo Blanket, Heat Sleeves
-FFIM w/ 75mm Throttle body
-3" Intercooler piping w/ 50mm "Tial" BOV
-Walbro 485 with Bosch 900cc injectors
-Probably other things I'm forgetting, but will get to later when I edit

Bit of Work on the Wastegate Recirculation
I brought my camera yesterday, I will take pictures daily and upload them when I get time. Helped a friend till midnight last night, long days and sore muscles/bones in the mornings, but progress will continue.
Wastegate Re-circulation tack welded. Exhaust will be done today and moving on the intercooler piping.

what is your ignition solution? hks dli is gettin kinda old. try looking into lq9 coils. also what was the engine built with and is the head stock? also id suggest getting a fuildampr crank pulley

The engine is stock un-opened, minus the turbo kit and maintenance items, Spool should be very fast under 3k with 10.5:1, E85 and 60mm turbo. It's using Megasquirt MS3x with the stock vvti coilpacks and NGK 4644 gapped to .028. They should be more than sufficient for 500RWHP on E85, which is the goal. I have a couple sets of the VVTI and non-vvti coilpacks just in case. I've used the Lq9's on other builds, but don't believe it's necessary, We'll find out! Also never had a crank pulley fail at this horsepower level and I daily drove at 700RWHP on a stock pulley for years.
I've nearly finished the intercooler piping. Wiring and Megasquirt mounting in the glovebox is done. Engine and (Stage1 w/ Valvebody/Billet Accumulators) transmission are in the car. Waiting on some cast 3" 90's to come in, transmission coolers and driveshaft modification. And the driftmotion fuel rail, in lieu of the stock modified rail.
Decided to wire in the VVTI control from MS3 to mess around with the settings. I could have used the stock ECU to do this as it does a pretty good job, but I will see if I can pick up more low/midrange power with tweaks. For ricer modifications I wired the 2 step to neutral( may add a button) for drive-by rev banging and shenanigans. Also wired in Transmission and ABS sensors to dial in traction control and boost by gear.

I was going to push the stock rods and see what happened.. I think they would have held 450RWTQ as it's low mileage engine. But it was kind of a crap shoot and under 500RWHP is a dime a dozen these days .
I have a couple non-vvti engines readily accessible, ARP head studs and head gaskets. I decided today I'll just swap the bottom end out, and max the turbo/trans out. New goal is 600-650RWHP range @ ~30PSI. Few shots from a week ago before the intercooler piping was welded. It's getting a bit dusty
Still need some tight radius 90's for the intake manifold/intercooler bumper area.
