SRT is no longer in business but when they were the intake that you bought from them came with an "ECU" that you had to wire into the car. This was to make their intake work and not throw a CEL. From what I understand it changed the readings of the MAF and added about 20-30 HP.

I don't know about 20-30HP but the butt dyno definitely feels like it pulls harder. One of these days, i'll take it into a dyno just to see what this 20 year old car can do.

Love the car and styling! Going to have to steal some of those mod ideas.

We all know the Q45 projector, looks great, garbage output but who cares, we like the way it looks

250 degrees for 10 minutes is perfect. I was scared and did 200 degrees, didn't work. Went up to 250 degrees for the 2nd headlight and it worked great. Did the same when resealing.

Out comes the reflector bowl

In goes the projector. Test fitting with the Luxury Mods brackets. Clips on to the same mounting points the reflector bowl uses. Pretty straight forward.

Here's where it gets interesting. Using a Dremel tool and a cut off disc, you have to remove a part of the bezel where the turn signal light is as the Q45 projector can't be fitted with it in the way.

Yellow outline shows the cut. Cut enough space so the factory auto leveling can still tilt the projector up and down.

Some shots of the reassembly. Lots of room to move

The problem now is since the Q45 projector is so big, the back of it sticks too far out. The OEM cap can't go back in to properly seal the headlamp.

Home Depot to the rescue. $2 3" PVC pipe section and some clear silicone sealant to "extend" the opening on the back so the cap has enough space to be used. Plasti Dipped the PVC black.

Ordered a set of 8000K D2S bulbs from HID Outlet. My last 6000k D2R bulbs lasted 4 years, super happy with them. Reveal pictures coming soon.

Now that the insurance fault is settled, I can post this. The IS300 was found 100% at fault. I am incredibly sad this happened. I am still waiting to see what the insurance company says but I'm certain they will write off the car. It is currently sitting in an impound lot, waiting to be inspected

That's sad. I hope you get the car back after putting so much effort into making it nice. That's my biggest fear driving my car. It's not worth a lot so any small accident and it'll probably be written off

The book value may not be worth a lot but you can't put a price on sentimental value. I drove my newborn son home from the hospital in this car. I drive him to and from daycare every day in this car. He was in his car seat when this happened.

Unfortunately, I don't think the insurance company will see it the same way. Also, to add insult to injury, I just picked these up these PPE headers last month. I haven't installed them yet

Glad your ok and i hope you get some sort of payout instead of being written off. Looks fixable IMO but insurance sees things differently i suppose.. Keep us posted buddy..

Well, this is the end for my silver GS. Car has been written off.

After sitting in a lot for three weeks, she started up like a champ and was backed in to the shop to remove all the goodies that will be transfered to my black GS.
