99 SC300 daily beater 11 second street tire build.

Does dropping tire pressure on a street tire really work for you? I was under the impression that it doesnt work on regular street tires? Anyways great job. Looking forward to my build everytime I go on to these boards.

The gear selector is in 3rd gear, at 2,000rpm I hold throttle at 50% or less. At around 5,000-5,500rpm I roll into full throttle and complete the dyno pull. This is the best way that I have found.
The is300 pan is deeper and is preferred for its extra capacity. I cannot speak about the pump being better as I have no data about that.
I drag race the car in "D3" so it will not shift to 4th gear as I have heard that the trans will not take it. I may just try and let it shift at lower power to see what happens.

Im planning on running the oem open diff which would limit me to 108mph
this is one of the large draw backs of using the Honda AEM box and piggy backing the factory ECU, not being able to control the Rev Limiter and Shift points

so if you are staying in D3 with a 3.76 diff ratio, your top speed is around 120ish mph? have you tried to shift into 4th and get any more speed?

I ran the car last night again. I removed the 4.27 rear gear and installed a 3.26 from a GS400. Fiddled with the launch rpm/boost and was able to run very consistent 10.7-10.8 the entire night. I was able to make 19 passes of which 15 were 10 second. FIrst few passes were test passes and getting out early. Ran the car pretty hard yesterday and in some cases back to back without even turning the car off. Car also completed the 5 hour round trip to and from the track.

Can't believe you are running those times on those crappy tires. Congrats. Well done!

With the 1.80 60ft it looks like theres more left in it, probably easily a 10.3-10.5 on a drag slick. You seem very modest about the build but I'm sure you are giggling like a little school girl inside with how simple the build is and yet so effective / fast. Not many people doing what you are doing, keep up the good work!

Here it is done on a MK3 supra

Or read through this thread.
And then in the picture link, shows which holes to drill, and the size, for the 1-2 shift, 3 and 4.

Great build and information, and those track numbers are amazing for having the car only on 3rd gear and the tire size you are using.
Just curious did your sc originally have 30 40LS tranny if so, when you changed to the A340LE do you have a diagram of the wiring you had to do to make it work well and shift smoothly?
