Default Iconic SC300 Build Thread

Welcome to my first Sc build thread ladies and gentlemen. This build will be a slow but meaningful build, as I will be doing most of everything myself. I've been into automotives for some time now and really love Lexus cars. My first car was the IS350, sold it and got my beautiful black SC300.

I plan on making my car faster, pretty sure im not the only one. So any tips and pointers will be greatly appreciated. Besides going faster, I'm also attempting to restore it back to the beautiful car I know it has the potential to be.

So today, I finally found the time to upgrade my rear deck speakers. The stock ones were rattling crazy and it finally got on my last nerve. So.... Time to go to work.

Removing the back seats were easier than I expected. And there was alot of nasty stuff. Did a quick sweep, but will be cleaning it thoroughly another day.

Removed rear sub. It was also trash.

Stock sub. Wont be replacing it, I have two Kicker 12“ CompR coming in the mail.

New speakers.

Unboxed, theyre smaller than the hole in the frame. May be relocating them to the front when I pick up some larger ones.

Ragedy stocks removed.

Replaced speaker wires. Getting the stereos in was easy. Sorry don't have picks. I broke the rear deck some during re-installation. No big deal, I plan on removing it when I get larger speakers.

The sound quality is amazing and I'm pleased.

would you mind showing pics of how the new speakers fit on the deck. I plan on buying some speakers for my car too and don't know if the 6.5" is a direct drop in or the hole has to be opened a bit. good luck on the build by the way.

The 6.5 actually are to small for the rear deck hole. Im installing 7" kinwoods later on today, ill take pictures of before and after.

Well the 7s were a little too big. And it was getting a little to cold outside so i called it quits for the night.

I didn't know they actually made 6.75 speakers but it shows here on post #72 that they do. also he said that he had to cut some material off for it. so i'm guessing 6.5 speakers fit just depends on the speaker. maybe have to mount a little differently.

post 1 said 6.5's worked while post number 2 said he had to cut some because they were to big. I really think it just depends on the speaker mounting bracket.

With a little modification, im sure i can get the 7s to fit properly. If not I'll just relocate then to the front door, and move the 6.5 back to the rear deck.

Here's the kenwoods

Got the sound system all put together. Took more time than expected. I had a broken rem that took two days to realize it was broken.

Sorry for pic quality. Installed Sony Xav 712 hd. I love it

12" compR, no room for groceries lol

Cheaper than dynamat but it gets the job done
