Default 2007 GS430 Shock Absorber Fail

I have one thing to say after doing a month of online searching for non dealer replacement struts "Damn you KYB.com for not selling the the adaptive struts assembly that my GS requires"

I really don't care for the sports mode or coilovers. So I figured I would just get the more cost efficient ($351 cheaper) KYB Gas-A-Just strut assembly that fits on the 2007-2011 GS350, part no. 551106 Front Right, 551107 Front Left and 551108 for the Rear set for a grand total of $344.

I was stoked thinking its the same suspension design with the exception of not using the adaptive strut assembly and bypassing the Adaptive Variable Suspension gizmos.

I'm most sadden to say that these struts won't fit my OE springs as the shock absorbers are 2 inches shorter than my electronic controlled struts. Major boooooooo. Guess I'm stuck in this involuntary $1200 parts relationship with Lexus.

This is the only thing I'm slightly dreading about my 2007 430 as well. I hardly use the adaptive feature (can't even tell a difference in that mode), so I'd possibly consider your first route too...But it's not an option. Coil overs are an option, but I really don't want the stiff ride they come with (unless I'm wrongly informed).

yes, you're being wrongly informed. there is a dampening settings in coilover that can adjust the stiffness of the shocks. It can be as soft as OEM or stiff if you drive like me.

Try megan coilover, one of the most popular around here and affordable.

Good luck!
