Definitely in watching this one. Same colour as mine and I plan on doing a luxurious build on mine once I get the chance.

It's been a while since I've updated.

5spd stuff is going very slow, I have collected everything needed except marlin crawler bushings and driveshaft. I'm still working with Xcessive Manufacturing to get good fitting clutch pedal where you can still utilize the step down ebrake.

But in the mean time I added a roof wing. Woo!

and swapped in clear corner lights.

I think it gives it a cleaner look, if I eventually do a kit i'd like to retain this lights on the next bumper.
also dont mind the front wheels for now they are temp spares cuz i blew out on of the fronts from not getting an alignment =( oh well. lol

Why not the IS300 clutch pedal? I here its the best fitting pedal for the GS. How does your handle on those coilovers does it still have a lot of body roll. Any other suspension mods? BTW I am really diggin those wheels.

Loving the build, even more so because I have the same color, car and wheels.

Any updates on the xcessive clutch pedal? Curious, if not I might just go the IS300 route, and modify if need be.

Thanks! Badass project cars by the way. Love me some Cressidas.

progress has been super slow on the car, but I have gotten a few things done.

Painted the grill. I did not like the gray/chrome trim on it.
Black looks way better and makes the emblem stand out.

Flared the fenders. it's pretty mild but looks nice.

And of course the most important thing!
Finally spent time and get a new pedal from XM and mounted it up.
5 speed is getting closer.

We decided to use a MX73 bracket and pedal based on the mounting position.

One of the reasons I did not go with a IS300 pedal is they are hard to come by and i was using an existing pedal from XM so we have something close to start with and modify it for GS.
The bracket needs another mounting point and the pedal needs a little bit of modification but we are getting closer.

The car still has body roll, i'm hoping sway bars will soon fix that.

here's a couple of crappy shots.

what roof spoiler is that? I have been seeing a lot of those lately? I think if you paint it would not look so cheap.

looking good! I saw your car off of Belmont on saturday!

Also, Some buffing compound and a towel and you can get most of the fogging out of your headlamps by hand. or go the next step and buff them with compound and a sponge buffer. or ultimate.. 1000g wet sand, 2000g wet sand, 3000 wet sand, 5000 wet sand, sponge buff with compound and then polish with a polish rag and they WILL look new!

When you flared the fenders did you just use a roller on them uncut? Or did you cut then flare? I see a lot of posts about rolling and not cutting causing dimples, but yours look pretty clean!

SoCal Cyco - Roof wing came from here. I contemplated painting it but really I don't mind it black.

rrevalo - Thanks man! haha yea that was some time ago I was down there, iirc we were at wunderland. haha thanks for the advice I ended up getting the 3m headlight repair kit but it stills need to be done every few months it seems like.

krdp2GS - thanks man! I just roll the lip and then flared the fender out. The front right dimpled a little but i had bumped that fender previously so I think that partially caused that.

The build has been a very slow process but I've finally got all the parts to do the swap, so the car should be going down in the next week or so to start the long process of doing this.

Bought and installed whiteline steering rack bushings. It made a noticeable difference, but installing the 2 two-piece bushings were a pain in the ***, i'm sure it would had been a ton easier using a c-clamp.

Rich at Xcessive Manufacturing and I finally got a finalized pedal.

got the front half of a 2 piece r154 driveshaft built by Hey Man! from japan. http://www.heyman-products.net/ I really didnt want to go with a single piece ds just for daily driveability so i'm pretty stoked I was able to snag this.

also met up with mveale and bought a Sarona Grill, he's real cool dude and his gs is pretty gangster.

I'll work on posting more as I start digging into the r154 swap.

Keep it up man!
