I will add more pictures soon. We also acquired new sponsors. I was thinking of adding a how to submit a proposal to sponsors. Not sure if people care to know how I have done it and how others have done it as well. Falken is our new tire sponsor. As tires are the hardest to get support from imo.

Worked on the car a bit this weekend and the 2jz block. The welder I was borrowing I ended up needing to return. So progress was short lived, I will have more soon I’m welding the slids finally.
worked on the 2jz and in the process of doing so, we forgot to have a straight edge to measure the clearance of the deck heigh of the block. We decided to head to the local auto part store to get one when we ran into our boy Hai. He stopped by the shop and we just hung out and put of the 2jz work for another time. It was nice to chill a bit and talk cars and goals for each other’s project.

Holy $hiit man, that is one hell of a build. Amazing! I just went through the gist of it. How far out are you from completing the car?? What are the goals for power and what do you plan to use it for? Just the pride of ownership, or competition? Mine's on track to be done within a few months (Engine-wise), always more to be done, but don't plan to track or show the car. Just a pride of ownership type thing for me.

Thanks man. Goal is to finish it or at least getting it moving under its own power by August. But goal is finished by August. Power goals, I would like to make at least 500whp, max power that I would be ok with is at 800whp, wherever it lands with the parts that I have on it. The car has changed a lot as well as the initial plans. But I need to just put the engine together, install the engine and transmission. Measure for a driveshaft, install the rear end. Wire and do plumbing. Plan for the car is still for the track.

Build is looking good. I've gotta see the "after" picture from the Pepsi corrosion challenge. I've never heard of that, but would be interested to see results. I spent 15 or 20 minutes cleaning my transmission bolts up with a brillow pad on a drill the other day, so if a can of Pepsi and an overnight soak would have been just as good or better, I might have to start buying Pepsi.
I'm glad the diff fail was only forgetting bolts. Seems pretty fixable. My fails are often much worse/expensive.
Not trying to derail your writeup, but I am curious about your transmission choice. What specific model are you using? I'm familiar with the swap of the Getrag from the E46 M3 into this platform. It's something I've been contemplating as an alternative to the CD009. I had a E46 some time ago and I liked the solid connected feeling and gearing of that transmission. Gear shifts were a little buttery, but rarely missed their target. I drove a G35 MT-6 years ago quite a bit, and although the shifts felt a little more precise, I didn't quite have as much appreciation for it as I did the box in the M3. Didn't feel as robust. Granted it was the first year model, and I know updates were made to that box over the years. I've read quite an extensive writeup a guy on Supraforums did fitting an E46 (Getrag, I think) transmission into his car. It seemed to be a good transmission for the car - fitting perhaps better than the CD009s with similar gearing to the V160 in the Supra. From what I gather, some banging of the tunnel (or more) is required in fitting the CD009, and not the case with the Getrag.

Hello Kyle,
The transmission we are using is the one from the BMW 335i, which is the GS6-53BZ. However, any of these manual BMW transmissions will work. You just let us know which one you are running. We are a dealer for one of the companies that makes these adapter kits. So we will be running these soon. The stage one that we are running will can support 767lb/ft of torque. So to start off, this should be enough to get the car moving.
Here is the gearing comparison between the V160, CD009 and the GS6V160 ratio vs CD009 vs GS6-53BZ
V160
1st: 3.827
2nd: 2.360
3rd: 1.685

There are many other transmissions you can run, link below to our site shows the available kits and in the description, you can see the different BMW transmissions you can use
Example of the kit I am using, click on link here
In the video below we show the result of using the Pepsi/CocaCola on the rusted bolts. It could have cleared things more if I had left it for more days but I was in a rush to get the diff back on.

Awesome post! Can you provide any more information on the transmission swap? It looks like the pictures of the kit to swap the trans are missing in your post. I have been eyeing the swap kit from Grannas racing for the T56 for a long time but its pretty cost prohibitive at about $10k when you factor in a clutch, pedal, hydraulic bearing, etc. For this option, how does the shifter location line up with factory location in the trans tunnel and what are you doing about the rear trans mount?

I will be posting a new video soon. But we assembled the engine as far as we could as we wait for the dry sump valve cover and additional parts from Hypertune and Ross Performance as they are being built.
First I prepped the block so I could paint it mid gloss black color.

I'm in a race to get mine done now! Kidding, good luck on the build. Take your time and no shortcuts.

No shortcuts usually mean that it will take more time for a build like this one. I feel we are close to getting this car running. I cant wait to hear the engine, its been a long time. @TrueGS300
