Forgot to add this...installed PPE catless headers last month, as well as some lighting trickery. Will add some video clips for the JoeZ + PPE sound and light mod when I get some free time.

Did you install the o2 conditioner that came with the headers?

I didn't...the JoeZ already has the extenders that pull the sensors out of the exhaust stream, so no issues to report yet

Haven't posted up here in a while...been busy assembling parts for my current build and getting things organized.

Well, finally things have been moving along. I purchased the Brembo GT BBK from Mike, and had the calipers powdered a Ferrari Corsa red and the rotor hats jet black. When installing, we had to completely remove all the dust shields due to the crazy size of the rotors. In the process we also installed stainless brake lines. I am very happy with the results, with the pedal feel and the look.

I know I don't have the best pictures, as the next phase is already underway...will post some teaser pics in a few.

Hey I noticed you said you were running carless ppe headers.... any terrible rasp at high rpms? Do you get a bad smell? that seems to be a complaint.

Loving your BBKs!

Not to pop your bubble but there are some important cracks on the rotors that need to be checked

There is a little rasp, but if you are after exhaust note alone then you are not going to want these headers. These headers are for freeing up the most restrictive part of our motors, the exhaust manifolds. This is for sheer right foot pleasure, and the smell...I like the smell

Thanks!!! I don't think those are cracks, must be something on the rotors or the back phone pics. There is nothing concerning, but thanks.

From what I have been able to research, this is first 2IS in NA to have custom steering knuckles.

This now allows the front UCAs to start at a lower angle. This keeps them from hitting the upper shock support in the fender well too soon, as all the people on air know too well. I can now tuck about 2" in the front with my old 19s. It also adds more camber in the front as well.

These will be available for sale shortly, and I will let everyone know when and how to get them. Enjoy

^Very innovative! However, I'm not a welder by any means, but I hope the means that were taken to lower and re-affix the upper portion of the knuckle is sound in strength. Have ANYONE put any amount of miles on such a component yet? Is the knuckle cast aluminum? Did the welder have any difficulties with getting quality welds on the metal?

No miles yet...the teaser in the pic are the lines on the body, so after my body work is done I will be able to beat them up a bit and report back. The process in welding something that was cast aluminum is very intricate, and involves many layers of weld and super heating the knuckle at the same time. There are also additional braces welded onto the front and rear surfaces for added strength. This is not something new, just something new to the 2IS world.

I know the inner upper barrel of some wheels/tires actually get pretty close to touching the knuckle where you have an extra plate welded on there. Are you running anything close to touching it? I'd assume not, but it'll be important to know for those wanting to purchase the custom piece in the future.

Good point...my new wheels are a much lower offset than what 99% of the people on here will be running. They are pretty close to the knuckle, but that was with my Megan UCAs set to max negative camber. Plus, these knuckles add some camber too, so I will be adjusting some of the negative camber out with the UCAs. After the alignment is dialed in on the front, I will get some pics of how close the wheels are to the knuckle. Thanks!
