Silly me, I didn't realize what you were saying. Yes not having a TC in there will definitely save some weight. A good 60 lbs for sure.

haha that's with the fluid? the tc itself is just like about 30lb at most anyway, i am sure that would save you a lot of weight one way or the other, we don't really care if the car can move anyway

oh and so 6 speed huh? i am sure we are all VERY anxious about the outcome

Audio maybe....

I will write a longer story tomorrow. Suffice it to say that a 2800 rpm TC is worth twice its cost. Seriously! The car's character is soooooo different now. No exagerration whatsoever!

Yeah, I'm feeling ripped off. What kind of mechanic do you have there anyway, isn't he up for a challenge?

We ran out of time to do the 6-speed mod.

Not to worry, I will get to it someday!

THE BEST BANG FOR THE BUCK PERFORMANCE MOD!!!!

The 2800 rpm PI/TC is worth every cent Precision Industries charges for this baby and even more.

The way this TC changes the characteristics of a GS400 is just plain incredible. The throttle is much more responsive, the acceleration of the car is so much more better. Words are not enough to describe the feeling.

I had a chance to test it from a stop last night on the way home. I stopped on an on-ramp onto the 407 (of course there was no traffic behind me). Waited till there was no traffic near me on the 407 and then just smashed down the throttle. The big 275 cm wide S03's spun a little and grabbed (the VSC light came on very briefly) and the car just literally shot forward like a crazed and starving tiger going after a succulent deer! Absolutely incredible!!! . No lag whatsoever between 0 - 30 mph any more now.

The best part is that not only does it affect "off the line performance" so significantly, but it also affects the overall drivability of the car across the whole rpm range. At highway speeds, it is so much more responsive as well.

Keep in mind that I also have the Supra TT 3.76 gear rear differential which also helps in this department.

Now I actually have to "feather" the throttle otherwise I will be spinning my tires all day long. I find I never really have to push down hard on the throttle anymore. Reserves of power are always there now at part throttle.

Unless you have done this mod, no story (like mine above) can accurately describe the transformation that this mod makes to the GS400. It is almost like having your first child - nobody can describe the feeling completely for you, you have to experience it for yourself. Suffice it to say that you will NOT BE DISSAPPOINTED WHATSOEVER!!

Now go out and buy one all of you who don't have one http://www.l-tunedparts.com/product/?id=3 . I just noticed that Steve has dropped his price on it to $799.00!

With what I know now about this mod, if I had driven someones car who had one, I would have bought it even before I upgraded the rims on my car. It is that much more of a functional mod than wheels are (at least IMHO).
