What's the difference between the aristo auto tranny and the first gen GS tranny? I'm not talking about the diff, just the tranny

 

The transmission is stronger. All 2jzge got the "j2" and the turbo and v8 got the "j3". Just holds more power and the gearing might be slightly different. The Aristo trans is the same as the TT mk4 Supra.
