Good luck with the build, oem air will not go as low as aftermarket air or as fast, I don't know much about replacing the air ride on a LWB because there's only a few out there. And the only one I can think of that's active on this forum is Nat.

Also - I'm kind of regretting the purchase of the PS air controller. I "should" have done my research more thoroughly, but it seems it doesn't quite lower it as much as I'd like it to. Haven't really seen an LS that can tuck the top part of the rim.

I'm thinking of just returning it and going full air runner. I thought I read somewhere that there is a bolt on kit for the LWB models... or am I mistaken?
Or go with Universal Air Suspension... I'm still trying to figure this whole air suspension thing out. Especially with the LWB and it's stock air suspension. Would I need new struts or can it stock stuff be used?

If anyone knows - that'd be great!
I think the real question comes down to whether or not you want to run OEM Air Bags or aftermarket air bags. I think myself or Nat are the only ones with cars equipped with OEM air that have successfully removed the OEM air suspension with appropriate replacements.

Nat has the Air Runner OTG Kit and I have the Aragosta Youzealand Coilovers. I cannot speak for Air Runner but I love my Aragosta/Youzealand Coilover Kit. In fact, I have the Datasystems unit working in conjunction with my coilovers, so if this is the route you want to go, I would not return it just yet.

I've read all your threads and everyone elses, but the lowest it goes is just enough to tuckt he top of the rim. I want it to tuck all of it and sit on the frame.

Unless everyone that has posted "thinks" they're in super low mode, all pics I've seen in that mode aren't as low as an aftermarket kit.
I think something you should also factor is if you want to run 21s/22s. The guys here on 22s are tucking more than the top of their wheel but the guys on 21s, I believe are tucking just the top of the rim. I'll upload a picture later today I took of my car last night laid out so you can see.

Ok, sounds like aftermarket air is your route if you are trying to do all of that. This build thread will be even more interesting since you already have air so you are probably going to really get to know Nat and Brian who can help you figure this out.

This is my 600hL dumped as low as it can go on Super Low Mode. Reminder, my AWD cannot drop in the front as much as a non AWD LS. My car isn't sitting on the ground of course but more than low enough for my taste at CL meets and stuff. ...so you want to have the car sitting on the ground altogether I take it. I want to keep my factory ride when I want too...I wonder if the setups that Nat and Brian have still ride as smooth as factory at normal heights..like on the interstate and stuff.

Having sat in other cars with AR suspension and my own car, I would say our suspension can ride just as smooth as factory. All other variables constant, the stock smoothness is already compromised with 21/22" wheels, but the dampening adjustments we have are much more flexible.

I want to run aftermarket bags because of two reasons: The time it takes to lower the car, and more importantly, the amount of which it can be lowered.

Would you be willing to share information on what you know about the OEM air suspension and removing it? Either here to help others, or PM.

Thanks. I'm familiar with Nat's build as well!

I will be running 21's. Regardless of the size, I want the car to go lower than OEM suspension.

Yup - I regret not doing more research on the OEM air and rushing into it. I guess you have to learn somehow

I've also followed your build closely and I'm aware yours is AWD and it doesn't lower as much in the front, but I'd like to be at least 2-4" lower all around than super low mode.

Update: Just got off the phone with an Air Runner rep and he mentioned that there's no difference with installing aftermarket air on LS's with aftermarket air. All that needs to be done is to remove the bags as as if they were regular struts and then to remove the fuse for the compressor.
The only issue is that you'd get the light on the dash for it.

Hmm..

Shin from air runner is very knowledgeable and his product is quality, paired with accuair they ride smooth. I wouldnt have gone any other route than the way i did with my air runners. I cant speak for the standard air runner system but with the on the ground series i love it. I ride tucking tires even though i rub. Something i hope to fix when we do my kit fitment. My only gripe with 21's is tire selection. I want to run a smaller tire but i believe the tires i have is the smallest. Im gonna try and do a test fitment of 20's and see how they look. I wanna roll close to wheels tucking

Thanks!
I believe Shin is who I talked to then.

I'm assuming the difference between the OTG kit and the base Air Runner kit is the strut used.

I'm also looking at UAS - I believe all that's missing from their package is the strut. Does anyone know which strut would work?

very nice ride! get with your Lexus service advisor and explain to them what you're planning to do and ask them if they can disable the dash light. My service advisor stated that they could make the light go away after the stock air suspension has been removed... for a small fee of course!

Awesome thanks!
That's good to know.

I'm going to keep doing my research to decide what to do. It's either the PS module + skipper links + wheels for now or Air Runner and wheels later...

Hey, please PM CL member SBLEXUS about your controller if you plan to sell it. Since yours is used, he would probably take it off your hands for you.
