Still got to work on it some more and do the other side, not bad for a temporary solution.
What 'temporary solution' did you use for the 2 holes?

2 part epoxy to fill, touch up paint to match. Still need to fill and sand a little more to make it as good as can be for a patch

So I finally put the wheels back on yesterday, went out and found one was leaking... Again
Went to my buddies to fix it and this happened

Then on the way home this happened

Tire seems to have overheated and will probably pop the second I fill it back up so guess I'm out a tire with under 100 miles on it.
Moral of the story: these tpms adapters are complete garbage. All of my leaks have been because of them.
Now the lip on the one I went to fix got scratched up pretty nicely so ill be rebuilding the wheels and buying a new tire before putting them back on.

Thoughts of bigger lips are now in my head. Test fitted a rear up front.

Inner clearance is a little tight but overall it looks like it'll be doable without issue. Once I remove the other tires ill check and see if there's any difference in these faces and do some math for the new rear lips

Time to start the actual wheel refinishing
First split, then figure out what all needs to be done.

Seems most of the corrosion on the lips is clear coat and or sand able issues. Rear lips will be put up front and new lips will be measured and ordered for the rears
Unfortunately this was not a clear coat issue as I had hoped.

Meaning I will be resorting to plan b. directional brushed faces.

Will also be reprinting the pockets and backsides of the faces.
I will be picking up the better paint stripper tomorrow and finish up stripping the faces. (No point in trying more with this stripper.. It sucks! But was all I had on hand)
And centercaps

Ill be trying to salvage the emblems while sanding the chrome off, but am already working on making some replacement emblems just in case.
Last items are barrels and bolts. Barrels will be powder coated and bolts more than likely just cleaned up. They aren't as noticeable as on other wheels so the need to have them pretty isn't a priority.
Overall these wheels are waaaaay easier than previous wheels I've refinishished.

What wheels specs are you expecting to come out with?

Gotta do the math and some more test fitting, haven't got it all set in stone yet

So centercaps had some pitting that couldn't be sanded out so I had to resort to paint. Ignore the mark in the center.. Emblem goes over it anyways

Flat black barrels:

Had to sand and spray another coat after this pic to get rid of those spots

Stripped and sanded the faces. Pockets are a pain but should be painted tomorrow, then finish up the finish on the faces

Got the new tpms adapters and valve stems in

Turns out my problem with the other adapters was that when fully tightened they were not compressing the rubber gaskets enough to make a good seal, a simple washer could have fixed this if I had noticed it before installing the tires. :/

Bad news.. New valve stems are the wrong length.

Oh well. Ill have the new ones here long before the wheels are done

I had this same version of the TPMS adapter and it didn't work. I used it for 3 months and then I had to took the tires out because of getting new wheels. I found that all the 4 brackets were all bent upward. The bracket is too thin that they couldn't withstand the rotational force the wheel imposed on, especially with the weight of TPMS sensors is attached to them.

That's a bummer to hear, but I'd rather have bent than not sealing. Guess ill have to find a way to reinforce them

Pockets are hammered silver now. I need to finish sanding off some excess, remark and repaint to get some lines more to my liking but here's a preview

Once the backsides and pockets are done ill be spinning them to mimic the original finish and then clear coat.
I'm trying to keep this rebuild as budget as possible which is why I am going with paint vs powder. Faces will be professionally cleared though
And barrels are almost to my liking
