Hster build
1. engine(gte) itself is not difficult to find. (or I could have went na-t) problem is the tranny. it is near impossible to find neither r134 nor v160. cost is insane.
2. I like flat torque from 2k rpm, period.
will update you soon
so oilpan was cut&welded. this can be seen on cleans14's build so I'll skip this.

now it was time for motor mounts. Motor mounts are just tacked right now,
so there will be better pic of this near future. basically we used 5t steel plate
which is equivalent to roughly 1/8 inch. we tried to mount the engine as low
as possible.

results?

radiator was placed to check fitment. it goes in fine, but will be lowered to
clear hood.
Now we will be taking out the engine, weld (tacked) motor mounts, install
new clutch, start working on brake/clutch system.
will update you soon

I'll drive around in it for a little while and see which route I should take (N/A, FI)
thanks!

New clutch went in.

took some shot of motor mounts. I have not being welding for last couple of years so I let my buddy tackle the TIG.

Tranny mount. We decided to beef up the steel plate alittle

For clutch slave cylinder, I purchased some SS lines and fittings for routing to the master cylinder, and remote bleed

reworked oil pan.

Started on pedals. this is JDM Altezza gas pedal. With few twists, it went in

then it was time for brake pedals. I started with MC. Had to drill new holes and it went in. notice I messed up on first try
good thing this all gets blocked

During shipping, motor's tensioner was damaged. When I got the new one, it mounted different.(mounted inward about 2in)
I don't know how this can be.. so I cut some tubing to act as spacers.

another friend came by to take a look at my project. He wants a ls motor now

got the wheel back. repolished

got a great deal on hankook rs3 / v4. Man.. I'm eager to get this thing started..
I now am a father of a son!!
I've had very limited time to work on the car but I did manage to finish some of the key issues.
For those who are interested in doing a swap, the most difficult part was installing the clutch/brake pedal assembly (wiring is alot easier than it may look). As i said before, I sourced IS200 (RHD) clutch pedal, brake pedal, gas pedal and a MK IV supra brake booster out of NA supra (w/out ABS). Problem was the layout of RHD pedals. they were all backwards. I don't know if this is the case with LHD pedals but only those who try this in the future will find out. For me, it was nearly impossible to find a used IS300(LHD) pedals so i went with what i could find here. but finding those LHD might be the key to a easier swap.

from engine bay. brake : MK IV supra booster with is200 pedal, clutch : wilwood master with is200 pedal

from inside.
i didn't get much picture taken during my last visits and i'll make sure i get more pics but,

SUS304 from headers to mufller(located in the center of the car), muffler to tip is alluminum.
I got the alluminum driveshaft along with gs300 apapter from Aaron @ driftworks.com

mounted the ecu where stock battery used to be. on top of that will mount fuse for battery and powere distributor.

this is how engine room looks like as of now. All the wring is done and i started the car last week.
I will be doing finish works and hopefully have the car out of my friend's shop by this week.
Pic of my old one from a few years ago
