Got my intercooler pipes back from the welder. Had the Tial BOV flange welded on, my bung for the IAT sensor and another bung for the IAC valve to pull air through.

It's really close but doesn't hit the hood .

looks nice, I used a fitting off the exact same spot to take air for the IAC, it works well enough.

Thanks man, I'm knocking it out slowly but surely. The iacv is noisey from the fitting for some reason but it works great.

Yes I know its an extremely expensive cold air intake at the moment until positive pressure is a factor the worm clamp should suffice!

Thanks Ali, do you guys know of any good AEM tuners that are familiar with the 2jz platform that are near southwest Virginia?

Thanks guys! I'm stoked to get it boosted but I fear the upcoming obstacles of drilling the oil pan and any other issues that I'm sure will occur during the install.

Andrew ,

Are you going pull the pan off?

How about the headgasket?

I've got the TT headgasket that I got from you and new ARP studs to go on with it. I'm probably not initially going to install those, just rock the stock compression and low psi initially.

The oil pan I was going to try to drill with the pan on as I hear horror stories of pulling the pan off. The engine needs to be hoisted up to get it off? I would prefer that method but I don't have the resources to do it this way.

you wont need to pull the pan off. just patients and a couple breaks in between drilling and you will be fine

Lol, you will know once you get you drive your car some more, gotta give it gas in cold weather till it warms up enough to idle properly.

nope, but since you have a pretty standard setup, you could probably get alpha or another reputable tuner to send you something close and then make some small tweaks from there.
The stock 1101 timing map is pretty good actually. you may need to make fuel adjustments depending on your injectors and with a wideband anyone can really do that, especially on a dyno. be sure to make all the corrections outline in my other thread if you are using a v1.

I did this method also, very slowly, lots of grease, and lots of patience. when i flushed the oil I didn't even see any shavings at all. I drillled it with a 90 degree attachment and a step bit.

I actually contacted Alpha but he's a pretty penny to have it tuned and it's far from "tune" ready anyways.

Did you use a "unibit" ? I've got a 3/4" holesaw and a 90 deg attachment ready to go but I've been reading different experiences. I understand that it needs to be greased heavily and take my time but which bit would be optimal? The 3/4" hole saw or a unibit and slowly step it in?

I always pull the pan off , i know its alot of work.

or maybe drop the lower pan raise the engine up and then put a cardboard between the lower pan and upper pan then drill .With (2) bottles of brake clean you will be fine.I would definitely pull the lower pan off.
