Love those pics. But you didn't spill the beans, Vincent posted them 7 minutes before you.

So I didnt like how the rear end of my car looked so empty with no tips visible. So I decided to do something about it. Ordered some quad tips, I actually ordered 2 set of quads coz I didnt know which one to go with. But I decided on these, the other set will be for sale in a little bit along with my mufflers. Gonna go straight pipe with these tips.

Gonna cut my rear bumper this weekend and get the tips tucked up flush against the rear bumper cutout opening. I'll probably have them extended about 2-3" from the rear bumper, no more than that or I cant fit in my garage

Here they are laying on the ground

i've been hunting for new tips for a while, similar to yours but slash cut instead of straight (that's the hard part to find )

how far up the bumper will you do the cutout?

The rear bumper has a "lip" looking portion on the bottom, I plan on going just a tad bit above that

I *loved* those 370z wheels on it. I actually think they complement the car's looks better than the fancy ones do. Just simple and beautiful. Thumbs up on your build...

I like the 370z wheels as well for more of a stock-ish looking car. Didnt think it was gonna look as good as it did when i purchased them though

Got the tips installed this morning. It was scary cutting up my rear bumper, I made a scratch on my rear bumper while cutting it coz the disk was too large, so I'll probably cover it up with some touch up paint later on.

Driving back home was scary, afraid of getting pulled over. Way louder than I expected it to be. Theres a resonator in each tip so thats a total of 4 resonators and its still pretty damn loud. Anything past 2,000 rpm drones like hell. I'll probably have to add another resonator to quiet it down some more

Taping up the rear bumper and drawing where to cut

Cut the rear bumper

Test fit

Finished

Up close

Looking down

I think ima paint the inside of the tips high temp black so you dont see the resonator inside each tip. Looks weird imo, gotta purchase a pair of resonators (1 for each side of piping) to quiet down the exhaust a bit more. Thinking of going with a 16" obx resonator or vibrant, not too sure yet

a magnaflow or burns SS resonator would kill the drone but not change the pitch too much

also, might wanna take a can of black paint or hell even a sharpie and hit the new edge you created so it looks cleaner. You did a good job on the symmetry but a little more rounded on the corners may fit the fit better (try a dremel+sanding drum for fine tuning)

Ya know, I didn't think I was gonna like it but...it's pretty decent, sort of. On a basic plain car, such as mine, they would look awful but they look good on an awesome looking car such as yours.
They stick out just a little too much for my taste but, it's not my car. hah. I agree with you about painting the inside black, not only so you can't see the resonators but also to darken up the back a bit more.
Good job measuring and cutting. I would have been nervous as hell doing that.

I"ll do that the next time I take it to the muffler shop. He has to drop the tips down for me to use the sharpie on my rear bumper cuts. The tips right now are touching the rear bumper, so I cant really access it with a sharpie. But good idea

I'll look into the burns ss resonator / magnaflow. What size should I get?

the longer the resonator, the quieter the sound. I would stick to a 12-18inch (dual ofc)

wanna PM me where you found your tips? I'm stick looking for the type we discussed
