so the 2jz manifold does not work on the 1jz(ouch!). so ordered the right one and will be here next week. But the down pipe came in..

running a full 3" setup. i measured the hotside of the turbo wrong before.

so i need a reducer. Luckily ebay has one i need with the flanges..

http://www.ebay.com/itm/200709404994...WAX:IT&vxp=mtr

so that and a 2.5 clamp will be here next week.

went ahead and got the bov flange welded.

and the tranny mount plugged and powdercoated by my point man autisn!!

that's a T6 turbine housing.

look at the technical drawing your boy 1992Lexus just posted of his T4 turbo:

see how much closer his bolt holes are to the divided inlets?
T6 has a wider footprint than T4.

i'm not trying to be a comedian here, or whatever. go measure the bolt holes on your turbine housing vs that pic i linked above.

Default cartmill, were BOTH wrong

so i found out the other day what the real size of my hotside is... no it's not a t4 like i thought it was..

and it's not a t6 either...

hc1(left) hx30w(right)

you really can't tell by the pics as the h1c looks bigger than the 30 flange.. but

t3 gasket..

TADA!!!! IT'S A DIVIDED T3 FLANGE!!!

are you sure that's a T3 gasket in the last two pics?

a T3 divided flange should have the same bolt hole dimensions/orientation as the collected flange.

that HX30 turbine housing in your first pic looks like a T3 footprint.

just go measure it and post the dimensions... (like that tech drawing i posted above) the T3 dimensions are surely all over the internet

yes sir. that is the t3 gasket from the t28(the stock turbo from a rb20det). and it's also the same gasket that was on the hx30 pictured. and it's the same gasket that fits and will prob be on the h1c. it's a t3 for sure.

and that is not to mention that it looks like it's at least a 1.0 a/r (probably 1.15) so if it does bolt to the manifold, it will be super laggy on the 1jz.
just FYI -- trying to help you out -- not hating.
ya its a t 61 with 1.15 ar dose ok

1.15 A/R thats huge. thats something u would use on a Rotary. what kind of usuable spool will u get out of it?

i had a 1.15 a/r p-trim hotside T4 on my streetported rx7 and it hit full boost @ 5000 rpms in 4th gear. and ported 2rotors flow more exhaust than a 1JZ -- more like a 2jz. and a 1.15 is still big for a 2jz...
that thing will be unusably laggy.

thats what i was sayin! that hotside is useless. i dont understand why anyone would want full spool so far at the end of the RPM range. that means its going to peak like VVTI celica GTS. 1000 rpms before redline.

You guys are hilarious!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVYJu...1&feature=plcp

This is a HX35 (Almost identical to a HY or H1) with a T3, 12 cm2 = 0.89 A/R hot side divided.

Spool time is fine. Around 3400rpm to 10psi full.

Leave the hotside, get cams, and do rolling burnouts on the highway!
