Default Leather help

I know I know, lots of threads about leather out there but I haven't seen anyone talk about this one. So I've had moderate success with woolite, and the steaming towels did nothing to eliminate the creases/wrinkles. Saw one guy online who found a spraypaint to match his leather and sprayed it on a towel, then folded that towel over so the paint was on the inside. Then he poured lacquer thinner on the outside, and rubbed his old cracked leather seats. Looks like it worked really well. Has anyone been gutsy enough to try this? I inherited a 2010 RX350 with low miles (79k) that runs great, the only thing is that the leather seats are in rough shape. TIA!

That sounds like it may just make a mess and clog up the vent holes in the seat cushion.

I and others on the 3rd gen RX350 forum had success using the kits from Leather Renew (linked below) to refurbish the seats. Mine looked like new afterward. Just be sure to get the clear coat to put on top of the color paint.
The seats are coated with polyurethane and the cracks are in the polyurethane not the leather. Those cracks trap the dirt which makes them look worse. I found cleaning with a wet towel or toothbrush and warm water helps clean out the cracks. Or Formula 409 for really bad dirt build up. With Leather Renew just follow their directions. I applied it with a foam brush after prepping the seats as I did not want to spray inside the car and risk overspray everywhere.

Finally, did you actually read the Detailing Forum sticky thread on Lexus Leather? https://www.clublexus.com/forums/aut...s-leather.html
