Default bug guts

My Black GS collects a lot of bug guts and pit marks in its 1000 miles a week journeys. (even though I wash and wax regularly)

Do you think a claybar would hide or fix the pit marks and remove the bug guts?

I though about a bra but I'm not sure how the finish would hold up in the wet, humid, hot mid-western summer weather.

Not sure if the clay would help the pit marks since it typically is used to remove material from ythe finish, not fill it in. I would try some bug & tar remover on the 'gut' first, then rewash, polish, and wax the area cleaned.

If you are driving that often every week, I would look into getting an Xpel application done.

use water to soak the area and wait for a while, that should clear up a lot of the bugs. but those little chips, there is no way you can get rid of them unless you repaint the bumper or so. after that you can put on the xpel, that will project it much better. if you need xpel i can get you some pretty good price

I would suggest getting the bug guts off as soon as possible. The longer they stay on there the more damage it does. My front bumper is a mess from the bug guts and rock chips. When I get my kit put on I am going to put some Xpel on it to help guard against the rock chips. I try to wash the front end off twice a week or more depending on the death toll on the front bumper. Like Rominl said there is no way to reverse rock chips, you just gotta have it repainted, if you want it to look right.

Hate to bring it up but the best approach to bug guts is before they ever get there. A good protectant is required to make them come off reasonably completely and easily. If they grab the paint, well it's not a good thing. As I have posted, this was my problem with Zaino, tree sap bonded itself to Zaino and was a real bear to get off. The P21s/S100 is much more "forgiving" as far as getting contaminants off. But you need to have a good layer of it on before the "event". Afterwards, options are more limited.
