Three words: NEVER USE IT!
No only did the Bug and Tar Remover not remove bugs, it heavily scratched my clear coat. I am going to have to take it to a detailer now to have the scratches removed. I will take some pics and add them later, maybe some of you all could give me some advice...

I use it and haven't had any problems. I think the trick is letting the stuff sit on the tar for a while to soften it up. Wipe it away in 1 stroke if you can. If it takes more than 1 stroke, repeat until it's gone. If you try to rub it off when it's not soft, the tar on your towel will scratch your paint.
Hmmm, I still think that there must be something better out there though. Thanks for the info in any case....

Yup. Whether it's soapy water or a remover, you have to let it soak and soften up the bug guts/tar.Originally Posted by uschardcor

I've not used that particular product, but I suspect that it was the abrasive bug guts on the cloth that scratched your paint, not the solvent.
I have used it before to get a bunch of tar off teh bottom panels and it worked perfectly...no damage at all.
