I use eye-glass cleaning fluid and an eye-glass cleaning cloth that I purchase at my local optometery shop. It works well for me and so far no problems. I don't know if this is the PROPER cleaning method but it does a good job.

Use compressed air to remove dust, and follow up with a clean, damp microfiber cloth. No chemicals needed.
