So I just bought my 2010 IS250 last week and absolutely love it. However, after getting a car wash this afternoon, I noticed that the paint was completely coming off of my hood (and somewhat doing the same thing in a couple other isolated places on the doors). Is this something that can be fixed DIY or is a whole new paint job needed? I highly doubt a car wash could do this to a car.

Those are stone chips man its from road junk and stones that fly up and hit your vehicle.. I have a clear film protector on the lower part of my hood to prevent these chips out of my hood.. I also have the same film on the forward side of my mirrors. Your best bet is touch up paint for the larger chips that actually removed paint, you might be able to buff out some of the smaller imperfections
