Default Rust colored stains on sunroof cover?

Some rust colored stains have appeared on the underside of my sunroof cover. See the picture below. I am first trying to clean it off - so far I tried pet stain remover but that did not work. What might be best to use on that and does anyone know where it came from?

You might want to open your sunroof and close the shade to see if you can determine if the stain is on the other (top) side of the shade. Are you sure it is rust? White vinegar or lemon juice is said to be a good rust remover, or any of the specific rust removers from fabric should work.

I used to use Tuff Stuff foam cleaner on my camry's upholstery seats whenever I had any stains:

I used resolve carpet stain remover on my headliner in my 2013 GSH took out all the previous owners stains including grease mark and did not discolor the headliner. Looks brand new now.

I could not figure out how to do this as the sunroof brings that shade back with it through some sort of interlock when you open it.
