Question How to turn black OEM muffler to a chrome appearance?

Anyone know of a good tutorial on how to turn an OEM muffler that's painted black into a polished chrome looking finish? I've seen people do this to LS400 calipers, but would love to do this to a set of OEM mufflers on my GS300 then add larger tips for a 5zigen fireball replica-ish look. The UK winters/weather is too much on my Fujitsubo catback and turned what was a polished look into your average surface rusted oem exhaust. I'll have to take it off later and clean them up as well!! Thanks

I'd try a paint stripper on it.

Honestly, I would remove them off the car and do it off the car because it will get messy and last thing you want is to get overspay with paint stripper onto the chassis or e-coating of the underside of your car.

This is a good video. Although its not the actual mufflers. the same properties can be applied to clean them...

I'm going to ask, is't the black paint used to prevent rust / oxidation from forming on the muffler?

You can just clear coat it after polishing if desired.
