Spots on windshield that will not remove
When my 2014 RX F-Sport was deleivered, service brought it around the front for delivery. I went to check it for dings and scratches but all I found was a VERY strong solvent odor in the interior!
I did not think more about it till a couple of days later. I was cleaning that new car cr^p off the windshield interior and notice spots all over the windshield exterior. Windes would not touch it so I went and go a solvent/degreaser and applied a little to a cloth and it did not remove it either. I tried two other solvents with the same negative results.
These spots are mostly on the front windshiled but some on the back and side windows. I can detect none in the paint so it is possible that Lexus had the paint clay-barred as it's black paint is slick and very clean.
I have notified my salesperson and he says they will take care of it when it goes in for the hitch receiver and radar detector install. I am betting they have to replace the windshield as this looks almost like it had etched the surface.
ANYONE seen anything like this before?

Yup. My 2014 RX350 had what appeared to be a spill of some sort that left spots that would not be removed with glass cleaner, APC, or a degreaser. I tried a delicate Scotch Brite pad and that didn't help either. I finally resorted to M205 on a polishing pad and my PC. I got most of it off but there is still a trace that is visible when it is raining and he wipers swipe over it. Whatever it is, it is I'll let the dealership handle it when I get back in town. Odd that it is only on the glass and not the paint.
I also think it odd that it not be on the paint also. I waxed this last Saturday and was amazed how clean and smooth the paint was and thought they might have clayed the paint, but I can find no spots on anything else like chrome, etc.
I asked the salesperson if he knew what it was and he is not talking except to tell me they will make it right!
