Windshield with rainbow specs?
Three weeks ago, I bought a 2007 RX350 in a metalic blue color. I have noticed the windshield has tiny flecs of metalic rainbow colors all through it. Has anyone heard of this before? It doesn't scrape off, it seems to be in the glass itself. Had a hard time seeing driving into the sunset last night. Any advice would be appreciated. It appears to be the orginal Lexus windshield.

Most likely it is something on the windshield that requires more than just scraping. Buy a bottle of "Auto Glym Car Glass Polish". This is an excellent product for restoring optical clarity.

Sounds like paint overspray. Was the car repainted at any time that you can tell? Bumpers would be the likely suspect. Perhaps the metallic paint which is step two in the three step process of painting the vehicle.

Or perhaps the car is the victim of a dust storm. I had a car years ago that had that rainbow effect, it had been driven in a dust storm which had carved up the surface of the windshield.

Another possible source for this could be building restoration chemicals. I worked in an area where an old brick building was being sprayed with hydrofluoric acid to clean years of grime off the bricks. This was on a very windy day and the overspray etched the glass, much like you described, on about 50 cars.
