Talking Weekend mini project

Went to Walmart to get the Turtle No Rinse wash and decided to grab a mcguire headlight restoration kit to try out... I thought it worked out well for the price and effort. Here are some pictures... Before - After Sanding - After. I say it looks 90+% as good as new.

Nice work!

My driver's side headlight looked similar - little bit of M105 on an orange 3" pad took care of it very quickly.

Don't forget to seal/protect it often so you can reduce the fading in the future!

I wish Lexus could start using some hard ceramic type clearcoat on their headlights like Mercedes does nowadays. You never see their headlights fading, yet you see a 5-7 year old Lexus and you can almost guarantee it has clearcoat failure on the lights becaus eof hte cheap plastic and coating they use.

You know I was thinking the same thing the other day. It seems the Jap's need to get with the German's and figure this out together...

I have used the Plastix and had great luck, and no power tool required

Thanks guys. Just wanted to share in case someone wants to do it. Really easy. I followed the steps and it worked.

You got that right. I remembered seeing one of your posts about TWRW. Only got to use it to clean the head lights and the surrounding though. Been wanting to wash my baby last couple of days but reluctant since it looks like it's gonna rain. I'll probably just do it and re-do it if it rains.

No power tools are "required".. but when you can correct a headlight in 5 minutes vs. 30+ minutes you might be wishing you had the proper tools
