Don't own any car care products, please help!
Hello,
I have purchased a 2001 Lexus gs300 and am wanting to know what car care products I should be purchasing. I currently have nothing to clean my leather, vinyl or car itself. Can someone recommend products for me please? I have a pearl white body if that makes a difference.

For someone starting out, all you need are the necessities.
For wax/sealant, get either Menzerna Powe Lock, Blackfire Wet Diamond, or Collinite 845. Either one is about the same to apply. All last a good amount of time and give the car a great look.
Other than that, get a fine grade clay bar (doesn't matter the brand, I tried dozens, most are all the same). If you need it narrowed down, I like the Sonus fine clay, and the Riccardo yellow. The Nano skin pads are also amazing at making quick work of most contaminants that cant be removed with a wash.
Thinking back to what I USE THE MOST. If I had to keeep just a handful of products, I would keep:
1. Clay bar
2. Good car wash shampoo like the Meguires Gold Class since it's readily available.
3.Either of the three waxes I mentioned.
4. Iron-X
5. 3M General Adhesive Remover.
And obviously you wanna keep a bunch of microfiber cloths on hand.
That should be good for a start...later if you get into machine polishing and coatings, it becomes a different ball game, but don't worry about that yet.

Alright
step one- The wash
you will need two buckets with grit guards.
wheel cleaner- http://www.autogeek.net/carpro-iron-x-cleaner.html
soap- http://www.autogeek.net/chemical-guy...h-shampoo.html
wash mit - http://www.autogeek.net/the-bone.html
drying the car
http://www.autogeek.net/microfiber-cleaning-towel.html
thats just one of many microfibers you could use. Buy nice ones so you dont scratch the paint.
Next you will need to clay bar the car. Here is a nice little clay bar kit.
http://www.autogeek.net/piulpoclkit.html
next you will need so apply a sealant.
http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-opti-seal.html
After that a good wax
http://www.autogeek.net/p21s-100--carnauba-wax.html
after that a good spray wax to do after regular washes.
http://www.autogeek.net/duragloss-aquawax--951.html
leather cleaner http://www.autogeek.net/griots-leather-care.html
some of the products that i really like.

I'd add that our supporting vendors here at Club Lexus have put together several packages and offer them at a discount to club members. Do check them out.
Aside from product, which you will find that everyone has their own favorites, the most important thing is technique. Watch the videos posted by David as they are excellent.
The question(s) you face are:
• Since this is a 12 YO vehicle what condition is it in?
• How serious are you about taking care of this vehicle?
• How much time and money are you willing to spend? What is your budget for each (time and $)?
• What is more important to you, looks or durability?
• How frequently will you be planning on waxing or detailing your vehicle?
• Where is your vehicle kept? Is it garaged at night? Is it a daily driver?
Fortunately, white is a color that doesn't tend to show paint imperfections. The key to making light color paint pop is a highly reflective shine. That being the case, I'd suggest a sealant as opposed to a carnauba product. Sealants, in general, tend to offer more reflection than a carnauba wax which typically yields a deep warm glow.
Until you have a firm answer to the above questions, I'd grab a can of cleaner/wax and shine it up.
Here is a detailed post of my process: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/7617339-post3.html
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

Congrats on the purchase. Being in Florida protection from sun, heat, and possible saltwater spray is a must. You want to protect your interior plastics with something like Aerospace 303, especially the top dash area. You probably want to give the leather a good cleaning with Leatherique although it really just cleans the surface poly coat and not the leather itself, a leather protectorant with UV protectors would be recommended. you may want to wipe the leather down with a woolite/water solution every week to clean it and keep it hydrated. Any number of sealants would work on your finish like Klass AIO, Blackfire WetDiamond, Zaino AIO+Z2(very good but pricey), and for a wax I would only recommend something like Colonite 476S as your base protection as most of their stuff lasts as long or longer then a sealant. Since your car is white you may want to look into Jeff Werkstatt products, they are pretty rare but have a good look on white cars. You might want to get the car clayed and polished before you apply a sealant/wax to get out any swirls/scratches/water drops and enhance the gloss.
