Engine Detailing for a '99 SC400?
My engine needs some cleaning bad. I've read up on some good engine bay detailing threads, but in order to get a good clean it seems like I need to use running water.
But, I've seen PLENTY of SC guys have trouble with their cars after putting a hose to their car, even after taking the time to cover up sensitive areas. This seems to happen with the pre-98 SCs, and usually it's because some water sneaks through.
From what my buddy tells me, it's OK to use running water since he's done it on his 98 GS400, which has the same engine as the 98-00 SC400. (1UZFE VVti). Is this true? Should I go for it? I would love to hear from those with a 98-00 SC4 specifically.
Thanks in advance

They all seem to be filling the spark plug holes with water. Some drive it for a while and evaporate all the water. I was searching for old threads and found this huge one someone amassed with all the problems.

Everyone keeps saying hand clean it haha
I think what may cause a difference is the design in the engine and the fact that the 98+ V8 has a large engine cover which may potentially protect the plugs more
