Default Help to remove silicone :[

Hey CL!
When I took my car to a bodyshop to remove my INGS+1 Replica kit, I found out that the other bodyshop that had installed the kit had used silicone on the front and rear lips. They said they couldn't get rid of it and I was forced to leave with the silicone still on my car; makes it look like crap :\ Anyways, I was wondering if you guys know how to take off the silicone without damaging the paint. I heard heat and plastic tools and a lot of time can get rid of it but are there any better/faster alternatives? Any input is appreciated. Thanks. Also if you know places that could do this for cheap or if any of you in the socal area can do it if I buy you pizza and beer that'd be great, too. :P Thanks!

Silicone as in sink silicone and whatnot? thats pretty ghetto...

I usually heat it up a bit then slowly roll it off. It takes a while though so theres probably a better alternative...

This product should do the trick. Get a plastic razor blade to help safely scrape the silicone.

The 3M product I recommended is a good solvent that should also break down the silicone.

okk so a little update, i picked up the 3M GP Adhesive Cleaner and it really really helped. I first applied some then used a plastic scraper to scrape the silicone off until it was smooth and there was relatively only a thin layer left. that took, depending on how much silicone there was, 3-4 sprays, until i got to that point. after that, another 3-4 sprays, and in between those sprays using a microfiber towel removing all the streaks and marks. all in all, i'm really satisfied with this product, and have to recommend it if you ever run into the same problem i did. this took me about an hour and a half to two hours for just the rear, and still have a bit to take off in the front. afterwards, i used some wax and just wiped it down. thanks moemistry for the recommendation!
