Just ordered the Flex 3401 VR dual action polisher and am excited as he11. I've been using a PC 7428 and PC7424 for quite some time. While I've thoroughly enjoyed the 7424, it's time to step up. I like the idea of one tool that will cover all bases. Plus, the rotary still scares the hell out of me. I'm by no means a detailing pro.
I'll let you know how it goes. The PCs will be for sale soon.
You may want to hold on to your PC for a bit. At least until you are able to do curvey panels and such. My friend has trouble on the fenders, especially ones with multiple "layers" on them due to the 5.5-6.5" pad size. Congrats on the purchase though

I actually thought about that. However, I pretty much do all my work with 6.5" pads on the 7424 and don't have issues. I'll hang onto the 7424 for a little while to get the feel of the Flex and make a judgement call later.

Icic, well, just remember that the PC has a flexible backing plate. The Flex's is pretty solid unless you get the EDGE system for it, then you can use any sized pad
The Flex XC 3401 VRG has about 60% more power so it can remove more imperfections. It also uses a forced random orbital motion and does not bog down like the PC 7424 does. The only negatives on the Flex is the higher cost and they don't offer lots of other backing plate sizes. I would suggest reading our product description for more details or ask me any questions.
