You may want to think that over.
Sandpaper is a quick fix but it does more harm than good in the long run.
Without a doubt the lens will yellow.
Only this time it will not only be clouding from oxidation but yellowing from UV damage which you cannot repair with any amount of sanding.

so my friend decided to try this DIY except for some reason....he used 400 grit sandpaper...now after wet sanding it, it is stuck at the foggy lenses stage and the plasticx wont get rid of it. Anyway to fix this?

My only thought would be to use a sanding progression to try and get things "fixed up". Wet sand with 600-800-1000-2000 and then plast-X might be the fix. The progression will work the scratches from the sandpaper to smaller and smaller scratches to the point where the plast-X can then polish out what is left and voila clear smooth lens! Those higher grit sandpaper should be available at most autoparts stores like Autozone or Advance, etc... Good luck!

Just did this to my 96 gs300 and it worked out awesome should of taken before and after pics it doesnt even require alot of time

so i told my friend what to do but his cheapass decides to not get all the grits and he only did 1000 and 2000. so instead of doing the 600-800-1000-2000 as suggested...he went straight to 1000 and 2000. needless to say, his headlight is still fogged up and he has had no success. if he finally listens i'll update my fellow members...

ive used plastix and a progressive grit sanding method for many of my detail jobs and ive always had positive results. good job.

Looks good!! Have you tried spraying a coat of clear on them?

Is that a glass headlight housing? I'm not sure if this will work on my (plastic I think) 95 SC3. Let me know, that thing looks really hazy and I don't want to bake it!

So I went out an got some plastix and 1500,2000 Sanding paper hope this works guys There's too many method on how to clean our head lights. Going with gentle men with first post first page. An also he's from AZ like me, so we have something in common. Hehe :P

I've tried the platix with the sand paper method and it worked okay. I recently tried the Meguiares Headlight Kit and that really worked well for me. It's like really clear glass now.
