Go to home depot or lowes and buy some cheap (typically 5 for $5) plastic drop clothes. Wrap the entire car in plastic and you will have no overspray. The process takes just 15-20 minutes to completely cover and tape off all areas, which is way less time than it takes to remove overspray.

Love this thread. Here's what I did to a new to me 05 GX. My lenses weren't as bad as some I've seen. Took a Mr Clean Magic Eraser and in a spray bottle a combo of Woolite and water and cleaned the lenses. Saw lots of grime come off and a marked improvement is light quality thru the lens. Next polished with PlastX. The plastic feels smooth but you can still see some scratches when the lights are on. Wet sand and polish could be on the horizon if I'm not satisfied with the replacement the bulbs, might go LED. All my other cars have HID's and I am really spoiled.

I have to wonder if there's been improvements in the poly carbonate technology since these first came out so that the hazing and yellowing isn't as big a problem as the early cars with it.

Restore Neglected Headlights to BETTER THAN NEW Condition
YoutubeChannel: milanmastracci

I watched this video SEVERAL times then actually did it to my daily driver, a family member's car and two additional cars. Three years later all headlights are still crystal clear. Friends and relatives have asked me to do this for them. Polishing headlights is a "hardware problem" and I am a SOFTWARE engineer - so if I can do what's in that video AND have people rave over the results AND ask me to do their headlights - you can do this too.

The video also mentions the following product, which, in my opinion IS WHAT KEEPS the headlights from going bad in 6 months - like I said - 3 years now and we still have crystal clear headlights thanks to the process AND the 3M film below.

3M Scotchgard Clear Paint Protection Bulk Film Roll 12-by-84-inches VVIVID
