woolite method

I use Woolite 6:1 ratio and it works great. My seats are in great condition but when I use the woolite I just spray it on and wipe off with a clean towel. I do get black stuff on the towel so it is telling me that it is cleaning. I then wait a bit then condition with Connelley's(sp?) hide cream. The seats in my 2001 are like new using this method.

so what is saddle soap good for? just leather shoes?

It's just a product that doesn't really have much of a a place in today's leather world. They likely keep selling it because frankly, people THINK it's a good thing and keep buying it. A little bit like the product Armor-All sold back in the 1980s, before they changed their formulation from dimethyl silicone oils to a water based silicone.
